You can wear clothing over armour?

Post » Sat Jan 15, 2011 8:01 am

I think it looks fine. I cant wait for this game, wont have to play the real "subpar" JRPG's,and lame post EA bioware games. You can say what you will about the textures, but at least we are not stuck as humans because it interferes with the "story".

Everytime I see that particular scene, I always bust out laughing. His face before he gets stabbed is hilarious, I imagine him saying something along the lines of,"OH NOOOOO!"

Anyways, it doesn't look like chainmail to me, looks more like some sort of tunic. It would be awesome though if we could.

ALPHA
ALPHA
ALPHHHAAAA

Good god. I'm going to have to start requesting Bethesda to put ALPHAAAAA as a Dragon Shout.

Just looks like a tunic to me though.

The game releases in less than 9 months, they're practically finished. Lots of bug testing, placeholder removal, and polish is about all they can probably do now on a game so large, in such a short amount of time.

I believe there was a quote from Pete on his twitter when somebody asked him if screens were of an old or alpha build. He said something along the lines of "Why would we post screens of an old build, or something that wasn't even finished yet?"

Just because it's not finished yet doesn't mean EVERYTHING that we are seeing is going to be changed. I'm sure a lot of the textures in the trailer are final.

No, that's not true at all. He said it WAS an old build. Other people said "Why would they do that?".

It's the poor quality of the image more than anything. But yeah PC texture pack ftw :D.

hmm looks like were going to need the Graphics Extender again too. The water looks the same as oblivion's but its is hard to tell from a pic.

TBH it looks like a robe over a regular shirt.
This is what I was thinking as well.

There are no reflections in it either.

It's an old build because that trailer was really made months ago, when they were preparing for the first announcement. The trailer with the dragon is just the long version of the trailer they showed at the VGA. There's no way they could have the final build for that trailer. The next one will probably look way better.

I sure hope they bring back the Morrowind cloth & armor slot mechanic, however I seriously doubt that.

It doesn't look like chainamail to me, I'm guessing the clothing is just designed in such a way as to make it look like the wearer is wearing two layers of clothing, but it;s actually one piece. I don't know this for certain, of course, but that's what it looks like to me. Either way, the image doesn't prove anything, because we can only see what the character looks like, we can't see his actual inventory screen, and until we've seen that, we can't really be certain if what looks like it might be two seperate pieces of armor and clothing are actually seperate or just one piece that's designed that way.

It's an old build because that trailer was really made months ago, when they were preparing for the first announcement. The trailer with the dragon is just the long version of the trailer they showed at the VGA. There's no way they could have the final build for that trailer. Obviously it's not a finished build, but that still doesn't mean everything in the trailer will look better in the final game. Did Oblivion look any better upon release than the official gameplay trailer? Or the early screenshots? No, in fact, it might be argued that it looked worse. Just because the game isn't finished doesn't mean every single thing will change in the final product. Obviously, some things we see now MIGHT be subject to change, but it's probably best not to assume the game will look significantly better when finished unless we're shown anything to indicate it will.

I personally think armour should really only go over the tope of armour. Though that actually ties in to a suggestion I had of enchanting, so I don't have much reasoning on it's own other than 'it looks a bit silly'.

The only thing in this image I see are a lot of very weak textures. PC texture pack, here I come!

It looks pretty good to me, then again I play 360 and have a weak computer.

Better graphics are like HDTV. if you haven't seen it then you don't need it. If you have seen it then non-HDTV is pathetic.

I digress. that could be chainmail. doesn't look like it to me but it could be.
