Where'd the story go?

is anyone else let down by the lack of story? The few cut-scenes leave me wanting more context and story. [The exception is the after battle cut scenes they are always the winning team either escaping with the prize or shooting at the other team till they leave. could do without those.] Put simply WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE IM FIGHTING WITH? they appear in every cutscene but are never realized as full characters. Who are they?
For example in the resistance scenes It's always the asian guy yelling about being held down and the russian guy saying we were forced to do this. In the game they find a "cure". What is the cure for? why do they need one? IS anyone sick? Did they ever protest? There i no plot behind anything that happens in game. I understand that they sacrificed some story for the multiplayer aspect but seriously give me a reason why their fighting. all we ever get from the resistance is that the security is oppressive.and all we ever get from the security is that terrorists are trying to blow something up. For a game that supposedly has a good story it feels rather generic too me.

I was a bit saddened by the lack of more story cutscenes. Just the pre and post cinematics for random inserts, which made it feel like a simple "rinse and repeat" game. There was alot of potential for story and character development, but we'll see what the devs decide for future DLC content and the sequel.
