Dwemer in future?

What do you think? The Dwemer always interested me, and i wonder if doing something else than keeping their fate as a secret is wise or would you rather see it being kept as a secret?

We know what happened; they reversed their creation, regressing into divine flesh which coated Numidium. Unfortunately for them, the Heart of Lorkhan, which was also meant to be Numidium's power source, was never placed into Numidium, thus it never became anything beyond a tool of conquest.

I suppose it's possible that there could be some in the Outer Realms (as time passes differently in other realms and only Dwemer on Nirn were affected), but I doubt it.

Wouldn't it be then possible to create them again from the flesh that coats Numidium (IIRC there are multiple of them aswell)?

Since they left that pretty much open, it's 50/50.

Well, at least one Numidium is stuck in a time loop (or something of that nature) but without the Heart of Lorkhan and the knowledge of how to both re-enchant it and reverse the procedure, I don't see how anyone would be able to.

Was the heart of Lorkhan more than a power source for the Numidium? Mantella was used to power the second numidium, which points out that other hearts can be a power source as well. And i guess that the dusty tomes beyond the collapsed passages of some Dwemer ruins may hold knowledge of the procedure, that would make a fine part of a plotline for some TES title.

The Heart of Lorkhan was so much more than a power source; Kagrenac used it with his tools to regress his race; without the Heart, I don't see how it could be reversed.

Was the heart of Lorkhan more than a power source for the Numidium? Mantella was used as a replacement for the Heart for the Numidium, which points out that hearts mimicking Lorkhan's Heart can be a power source as well. And i guess that the dusty tomes beyond the collapsed passages of some Dwemer ruins may hold knowledge of the procedure, that would make a fine part of a plotline for some TES in-game book.

Fix'd

And yes it was. If it did power Numidium (like Akulakhan, the second Numidium, was going to do as well), then it would've been symbolic of the Dwemer slaving Nirn itself and it's whole function to work for the Dwemer and on their terms to achieve what they wanted to achieve (ascension). As a side effect, that'd mean total dominion over Nirn for the Dwemer. Not that they'd care from their perspective at that point.

And RE: the poll, we know what happened to the Dwemer. Maybe not Rourken Clan, but we know that they disappeared because they were trying to use the Heart of Lorkhan. The better question to ask is "did they succeed or did they fail?"
