Suggestions for merging ESPs

I would like some suggestions for merging ESPs. My mod list is pretty stable now and it's time to start merging some ESPs.
What kinds/types of esps are best to merge for starters? What esps should I stay away from?
Thanks in advance.

Edit: Will load order be a big factor? Such as merging a mod that loads early with a mods that loads late.

Small mods that don't conflict with each others.
Mods that are "finished" and are not likely to get an update.

Note that when merging mods with scripts some script variables may end up with the wrong form ID. For example the player character is 00000014, and this may end up as 01000014 instead. So after merging, load the file up in TES4EDT and run Check for Errors and manually fix any errors.
