History of Malacath ( Daedroth Prince )

Post » Mon Feb 14, 2011 12:24 am

Okay so, In Oblivion there are daedra shrines positioned around Cyrodiil of statues of daedra Prince's that give said player quests and unique equipment. There is a shrine located on the Gold Coast, West of Fort Sutch (Quest Related-Dark Brotherhood). Malacath according to the text "The True Nature of Orcs" (recently purchased from the book shop in Cheydinhal) says "He is not technically a Daedra Lord, nor do the other Daedra recognize him as such."

So according to my research into the Daedra Prince he should not have a statue/Shrine.

Am I correct in my research? or have I wasted time researching?

The worshippers are cultists. They wanted to worship Malacath, and they built a statue to honour him, despite what the other gods think.

At least, that's the way I've always thought of it...

Well he seems to be invited to Daedric Prince parties. According to Sheogorath, when talking about another Daedric Prince says "Malacath is more popular at parties. And Malacath is NOT popular at parties."

He's only considered not a daedroth prince by his fellow princes because, he became a daedroth after the creation of Mundus by being eaten by Boethiah when he was Trinimac, and pooped out as Malacath.

As a side note, the orc king Gortwog wants to revive the worship of Trinimac (partly because he wants the orcs to continue to grow in self-respect, AFAIK). I wonder if he survived the Oblivion Crisis and the Red Year. I hope he did.

it has been 40 years since the OB crisis, and he was still an advlt in DF. The orc is likely dead from old age.

That's true. I wonder how much he was able to accomplish during and just after the Oblivion Crisis, though.

Oh please, you just need a little symbolism attached to you and you can live a lot longer than that.

But, at 200 years, he is definitely dead.
