What if Skyrim Requires Steam?

I'm generally without broadband for at least two months of the year when I venture up into Lapland, still within the boarders of a 1st world nation. Even so I consider myself lucky. One of my best friends is currently posted overseas in Sierra Leone where he is completely without internet. Both of us are avid TES players, and both of us have never had problems playing where and when we will until now.

Now my other issues with Steam aside, I do feel it unfair, even closed-minded that some folks seem to think that only those with excellent internet connections should be 'permitted' to play this game. We're not luddites, neither are we penny pinching Scrooges... we just have the (mis)fortune to live in some of the most remote or technology-challenged places of the world.

Some of us have been fans since those first halcyon days of Arena, and now feel that we'll be potentially alienated by a corporate decision which hither-too has not reared its ugly head for hardcoe TES players.

I will buy it on Steam, I think that answers the question.

EDIT: You do not need a great connection to use Steam. You do need a fast connection to download entire games off Steam, but if you buy the box that's not going to be an issue at all now is it? If it works anything like New Vegas, and it most likely will, then all you need to do is activate it via Steam.

Saying that a fast connection is absolutely required to use Steam in any way is a blatant lie, nothing more.

Post limit reached with a lot of repetition and dragging the same arguments, reasons and discussions that have been aired in many previous versions of this topic.

So........... lets give the subject a rest for some time now. Thanks.
