Cats for Tamriel Immersion Experience

This plugin change TIE cats to use meshes/textures from Martigen Cats & Rats 2.5:

The changes made follow this order:
Stray Cat --> TortoiseCat meshes
Feral Cat --> BlackCat meshes
Cats --> TabbyCat meshes

Note. No cats sounds are included as of this version.


Requirements:
=============

- Tamriel Immersion Experience 1.37+ (should word on previous versions)
- Martigen Cats & Rats 2.5 sources (not needed if using the included OMOD version)


Installation:
=============

- Decompress archive in your Oblivion\Data directory and activate "TIE Cats.esp"
- Load "TIE Cats.esp" bellow "TIE.esp"
- If using Wrye Bash you can deactivate "TIE Cats.esp" and import it to Bashed Patch

if using the omod version you don't need sources from Martigen Cats & Rats 2.5.

Like I said, I installed C&R and it seemed to work fine.

What is the difference using that and this?

I don't see how they would work if you just install C&R;
C&R use uses different form ID and names for cats.
Furthermore not all people want install Cats and Rats.

Martigen's version of C&R also directly modifies guards, which can mess things up. It's probably solvable with tags though.

ok newb not know why that mod would modify guards. Seems silly.
I will try that update.

I have noticed in the past dead cats laying around. It seemed to happen over time. Perhaps during my mod order changes or something.
Why rats can run around freely but cats die was a mystery.

As long as you're making changes to the monster meshes... do you think you could make a patch that gives the dragonback spiders from TIE the meshes/animations of the spiders from MMM? :icecream:

Why not indeed :) it would link up a lot of people possibly un-aware of T.I.E. Veritas site was just the first place I thought of as the place it could be linked for anyone looking for all things T.I.E.

But its up to Ayleid_people and Veritas_Secreto really, do they want the attention/inevitable deluge of noob questions associated with maintaining a mod on Tesnexus. It can become quite a duty of care ( well unless you take the beautiful Alienslof approach - speak to the banhammer the heads not listening :) RTFM )

I'm going to put this plugin at tesnexus...
I just made this temporary link for fast download because I planed to work more on this plugin to add C&R sounds to cats. But this release is fully working as I have tested.

And I would suggest people to use the originial resources instead of using stuff from MMM (which is stored in bsa now)

Since the original Cats and Rats required http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=32925 to work with Open Cities - is it safe to assume that this will not work with Open Cities without a patch?

Or would it just mean that cats will not spawn in cities?

I think Psymon this version should work with Open Citries without problems; TIE cats use and spawn points are much lighter from those of C&R.
You can just experiment: one cat is placed by TIE near the chapel of Skingrad, another can be found sometimes in the road left The Silver Road that leads to Bruma; I also encountered a Feral cat in the road left The Nibenay Valley that leads to Leyawiin.
