Operative < Any Class for Points

Post » Wed Mar 02, 2011 8:00 pm

Anyone else try playing operative and end up with a tiny amount of points at the end compared to classes that can buff? Firewall and the recon ability don't seem to give any points. As well Firewall, Recon, and Disguise all require you to stand still in a gun fight for 15 seconds. Although I'm not really sure on this one, it seems like the disguises are useless and are always seen through as you still have a red outline of an enemy around you. Just wondering if there's something I'm doing wrong in trying to get points and be helpful to the team. Any other class seems to bring more to the table aside from the occasional hack once a map.

How do you rack up points? There doesn't seem to be any points except for killing or putting on a useless disguise.

You're correct, I've found operative, being an objective based class, gets the least amount of points due to not having a buff ability (and how rarely you get to do objectives, because people are playing for objectives due to easy points by simply playing defensive and buffing).

This all falls in with my other thread explaining how the game gives way too many points for team buffing.

Sticking with teammates. Assisting objectives. Being a general... Badass. ;)

Yes, you're right. If you look at the level overviews they tell you what the main classes needed for them and I think I saw maybe 2 main objectives that are needed for Operative. If you want to be a good operative providing sit rep on the map or outlining enemies helps a lot. Point wise it does seem like an over looked class currently. I play operative to spot and help regardless of points though. I also use them to throw spikes down and guard entry points.

P.S. DO NOT try to disguise against bots lol. Its pointless, I also don't see the point of disguising in general it doesn't help you do anything better outside of redlining 1 person? Meh

Wait what? You still have red outline? What's the point then?

Yeah it wouldn't be as bad if you got points for spotting, or recon, or firewall but right now I don't think you do.

which is why the ideal team has only 1 op if there is no primary hacking objective, and 2 if there is a a primary hacking objective (the extra would be a 'jack') althoguh i must agree that ops are seriosly lacking, and should get a bit more xp when they do their thing, just to balance it.

You have no red outline when you're disguised unless another operative has the ability to see disguised enemies equipped
and then spots you for his team mates. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about this.
