I doubt there ever will be a playable, public demo.

As far as I know there has never been a playable demo for an elderscrolls game.

And gameplay releases are few and far between with bethesda until closer to the release date.

I love the suspense :)

There was for Daggerfall. That's how I was introduced to TES. Picked up a retail copy the next day.

It actually takes time and effort to make a demo. I'd rather have that put towards making the game better.

Honestly they could make the demo just the tutorial dungeon and some tiny village outside it.

I think they should release a demo. They did it for daggerfall, they could do it again. It's a matter of proving yourself as a producer to the public that is not familiar with Tes. of course we will all buy Skyrim, because we are fans. But the general public prefers to test what is worth to buy or not. it doesn't have to be all the game content, just a dungeon.

Is TES not at PAX with other titles, but not Skyrim?

Making a demo back then was easier, but today it's a coding nightmare. With the time used to make a demo, they could have added spears or crossbows. Just an example.
