A message to reviers

Post » Sun Mar 20, 2011 11:39 pm

Personally I think that people need to stop reviewing it...for now. Give the game a week and build a review once you have taken a chill pill.

I feel that it requires at least a week to build a good review on something because you never know, maybe something might appear that you didn't take into account before.

I am currently neutral on the game since I am still waiting on the courier so this post is not pro brink or anti brink.

Agreed. I am gonna do a first thoughts video, and then a full review next week.

I wished I rented it before buying.

I don't ever watch or read reviews, I can form my own opinion on something, and in this case, well... I've beaten every mission in the game on the first 2 days, 3 starred the challenges, none of my friends play it, the achievements are insulting, and there's no apparent voice chat to even communicate on a game which relies on, more than any other game, communication.

I could have gotten the same experience for $4 but instead spent $71.

Haild, play it online, nuff siad, Splash is famous for making great online experiences. Anyways, these reviewers don't seem to review brink as it is, they always look for some way to compare it to games they are famliar with. Most of them don't even seem to know what the game is. They don't know how to define it. I hate when reviewers compare this games to other games, instead of actually obectivley looking at the game, they tend to only focus on it's faults, never on what it has accomplished. Personally I think Brink out to be commended for taking a leap of faith into uncharted waters. Well done Splash, now fix my damn ATI fps issues.

Unfortunately, once one person (well, the main people) release their reviews there's a big rush to all review it first and get it out as quickly as possible, because the amount of people likely to read YOUR review if you leave it even a day significantly drops. I dont like reviews of anything, this phenomenon is just one example of why it's a flawed way to assess anything. Sure they're an interesting read sometimes (SOMETIMES - not when it's just a moan) but to let it seriously affect your decisions is usually a bad idea.
