2 years for this?

Dont feel like typing some things. 2 years of waiting? For this? smart. Doesnt feel smooth. Graphics are pretty bad (PS3) and not talking about the style. Guns feel pretty similar, some underpowered. Rockstedi and Freakin. Missions are repetitive (Guard, plant, CTF, or rescue) Side missions dont really help your team (besides command posts, one thing they did get right) Heavies feel really underpowered. Maps just offer a few choke points which are pretty predictable. Yeah im pretty mad. Hopefully it gets better with online?

Some things they did get right however. Customization is pretty awesome. I look forward to unlocking new pieces of clothing. Classes seem pretty balanced.

Imo, wasted 60$ :/ anyone recommend a good shooter? Do people still play CoD4 (the only decent one)?

i'm not sure you read the forum title, but it does mention the word discussion. if you don't intend to elaborate on generalisations your just filling the board up with grabage for the mods to delete

How much more elaborate does the guy have to be? He's basically peeved about the same things everybody else IS. What more detail do you need? Don't be a fan boy. If he generalized and said "This game is the best thing ever... I love it" you wouldn't have passed that remark. PSSHT!

i agree, the game is lacking on many qualities. Besides the fact that it was repetitive, the campaign was super short. And the fact that i have do these side challenges to get new stuff on my guns is kinda lame. It should be involved with the campaign, because for people like me, who like to do one thing at a time, i played the campaign first and had to use the same beginner gun throughout the whole campaign. I do agree the customization is pretty awesome but everything is just way too easy to acquire and wasn't much of a challenge.

Hmmm, maybe you're just not great at the movement yet? I'm running an operative and I've gotten pretty good at running all over the place, and it's felt very fluid. I'm using a barret rifle/revolver (sometimes DOOM smg) and I don't feel underpowered, though I've not used many other guns. I feel there is a sufficient variety of objectives. I'm pretty sure that this game covers every mission style any other team game has had, correct me if I'm wrong. As an operative, I'm mostly doing side missions. I wasn't sure if Comms Hack was all that useful so I asked my friend, who's playing a soldier and he said it's actually pretty invaluable for him since he can see where the enemies are coming from. The disguise has also been useful and, yes, disguise is a side mission, too. I'm running a light and my friend is running a heavy and he loves it. Seems weird - if SMART isn't smooth, then what makes the heavies underpowered? As far as maps go, I'm sure tactics will evolve as time goes on. I'm having fun.

Edit: Doing the challenges first helped me get acquainted with the game before launching right into the story online. I'm on 360 and this is my first real team game (other than L4D, but that's a bit different).

Look @ what Worms did with there unlockables they had challenges 4 there weapon unlocks as well but they might be harder to complete due to the fact that u also might have to complete a Trophy w/ that in order to get the weapon.

Example: Concrete Donkey - it was very hard to get it in Worms 4 Mayhem i didn't even unlock it because some of the challenges where rediculously hard.

I've noticed that you like to emphasis words by putting them in all caps. Generally I find it is not needed but apparently you do and that's fine. However, I noticed you put emphasis on strange words. Like why did you put emphasis on is? Would the emphasis on everybody or even else be better? "He's basically peeved about the same things EVERYBODY else is." Or, "He's basically peeved about the same things everybody ELSE is." Just curious as to why you think is is more important in this sentence.

I support this 100%. To often Iv spoken my mind about something with starting a thread and got flamed and burned. I see no harm in the posters post and conveys his sediments for the game in a reasonable way.

Game seems way underdeveloped for a Bethesda game and has no online versus that do not deal with campaign.

This game was hyped up to be the shooters of the future, which thw mechanics could be, but this game is so repetitive it makes me want to kill myself.

The single player is unimportant to the game. It's only there to introduce the story of the two sides. The game is VERY balanced. And if you have a problem with the S.M.A.R.T. System, you obviously haven't had enough time with it.

Everyone is jumping to conclusions it seems. I really wish you would all give the game a chance.

Bethesda had almost nothing to do with how this game was made.

Please don't confuse Brink for a Bethesda game.

Bethesda just published it.

CoD4 is not decent. I wish I hadn't wasted my money on it... and I only bought it half-price.

Did you even play with friends? Where they any good? It seems the people that hate CoD games are the ones that are HAPPY this game has no KDR. When the people that like having a good KDR AND being a team player could care less if they have a tracker on this game or not.

That game was revolutionary. More so than this. The engine is 2nd to none. Graphics and movement for it's time were ABOVE everyone else. To this day the engine that the COD games run on for consoles is more fluid then anything else.

If I'm wrong tell me the title of a game that flows more fluid then COD as a FPS......Brink is not so that is not going to be the easy answer. Point in case.....how many guys do you see jumping at a container to SMART over it and they FINALLY GET IT? NOt because they aren't used to it, but because the game doesn't REALLY know what you are trying to accomplish so it over guesses or under guesses constantly. IN CoD it's pretty simple. You can climb over or you can't.

I hate to admit it, but I too am a little disappointed in the game... at least campaign.. extremely short... I do like the SMART movement, havn't had any problems out of it... I was as excited as the next person for this game to come out, but without online play, I'm limited... so hopefully when SONY gets their head outta their @ss and gets the PSN back online this game will redeem itself

This. BGS develops legendary games. I'm still on the fence about Brink.

Only one guy on my friends list played it.

Yep.

That's me.

Maybe the case with me and CoD, but only because CoD was P2P and I was lucky to get better than a 1-bar, and because it's just downright terrible ideas anyway. On BC2 I had a decent KDR and on MAG I was pretty damn pro. I love being a team player, and I also liked having a good KDR. What I DIDN'T like about KDR is what it does to the community. Seriously, KDR is only ever used to boost egos or stroke e-peens. I have nothing to hide with KDR, but I'd rather it was out of sight and out of mind and we DIDN'T get the stat-elitist element in this particular FPS. Now that I think about it, I was happy to keep a decent KDR because it meant I couldn't be given any [censored] by anybody. That was all.

That game was revolutionary. More so than this. The engine is 2nd to none. Graphics and movement for it's time were ABOVE everyone else. To this day the engine that the COD games run on for consoles is more fluid then anything else.

Other than the flashy technological bells-and-whistles, what super "revolutionary" gameplay elements did it bring to the table? What original art style or aesthetics did it present? Yeah, next to nothing.

You know why it's like this? BECAUSE COD IS SO DEPTHLESS, SIMPLE AND BORING. It's the same [censored] 5 minute game a million times over. Bad Company came out barely half a year later and it was LEAPS and bounds better. BC2 and MAG have a more complex flow than COD, because thought they both have some flaws, they can pull off NOT being aimless cluster[censored]s with overpowered this and overpowered that, and [censored] tactics left, right and center.

Summed it up right there, I could have sworn a COD title came out just 6 months ago...what happened?
I'll put Killzone 2, Battlefield BC2, MAG and Brink above a COD game anyday, just seems like one of those things to get nowadays because you know all your friends have it.

Agreed that the game was everything I hoped for.....if I am able to play it for more than 5 min at a time. On launch day I was able to play through maybe 2-3 full online games. After that, nothing but massive lag and freezing. If SD can fix those issues? I'm Golden. If not? Biggest dissapointment of the year.
