I think that both those have been confirmed since we will have crafting skills, but I'm not sure how detailed will that crafting be. I wish that we can at least decide witch color our outfit will be since I personally hate when I find some gear that has effects that I want, but has some damn ugly color. -.-
On the one hand, they've already said smithing is in.
On the other, the simple fact of the way games work means the odds of getting much more than a certain number of pre-planned components that you can mix and match (at best) are practically nil. The only way you're going to be able to outright design your own weapons and armor from the ground up is going to be "modding built into the game engine" with all the learning curve that entails- and since modding on consoles has been ruled out, we're back to mixing and matching pre-designed pieces and calling it "custom."
I hope you can make your armor look unique, with lots of option. If you can only smith generic armor (Daedric, Iron, Glass, Elven armor), then I'm raging.
id like it if there were actually a reason to make them. in previous Beth games, it's all too easy to get or buy good weapons and armor that i never felt like it would be good to have the ability to craft. why put effort into making fur or leather armor when its easier to strip it off a bandit?
the real question is what the crafting will be like... is it just as simple as fallouts where you have multiple of the same weapon so you can use one to repaire the other? or are we actually shaping weapons and attaching different handles and guards and inlaying gold/silver/diamons/pearls... ect.

i'd like that but i really really doubt we'll see anything remotely close to it
They cannot possibly add this without first balancing spellmaking.
Same thing.
Dont get me wrong though I'm all for it. More variety yay!
But if they add this they have to include spellmaking aswell.
I dont understand the logic of this. Anyway, who cares about making a spell that can burn people, while making them paralized AND invisible at the same time? Especially with how great it seems magic is going to work?
Kinda off topic but about armor and clothes anyway. Please for the for the LOVE of The Elder Scrolls will all you modders come to agree on one major skin/body mod for TES5. I was so annoyed with Oblivion because there were like 3 or 4 skin/body mods to choose from and then you could only use those armor/clothes made for that skin mod. So I had to go through hundreds of mods and figure out which skin/body mod had the best. In Morrowind there was one major skin mod and maybe a few little ones, so it wasn't as much a pain to find the best stuff for it.
