Wrye Bash Won't Start Properly

Post » Mon Apr 04, 2011 3:15 am

I'm using Vista and when I click on the Wrye Bash Launcher in the Mopy folder, which is in the Oblivion folder, it does not start, but it has before. It does not give me the option to 'Run As Administrator' when I right click on it, like it also has before. When I highlight Wrye Bash Launcher in the Mopy folder, it says that it has 'no console', to the right of where it says that it is a Python file type. I don't remember if it said this when it was working, but I thought it might help. I then followed the advice to check for a bug dump file in the Mopy folder called bash.log in order to get to the bottom of this, but it wasn't there. I was then told I should open the Command Prompt and type 'chdir c:\bethesda softworks\oblivion\mopy', press enter, and then type 'c:\python26\python.exe bash.py -d', and then press enter again. According to my advice, this was supposed to display the bug dump in the Command Prompt, that I couldn't find in the Mopy folder, but it did not display any errors or bug dump. It for some reason opened Wrye Bash. It did not fix the problem of it not starting from the Wrye Bash Launcher and I would hate to have to do this whole process everytime I wanted to use Wrye Bash. Help would be really appreciated, thank you for taking the time to read.

Have you posted in the wrye bash thread in the mods forum? I think you would be more likely to get the help you need there.....

I recently had a similar problem, and was told this:

Look in your oblivion/Mopy directory for the file "pidfile.TMP". If you find it, delete it.

The latest version of Bash apparently has problems with removing this file on close, and Bash won't start if the file is present. That was my problem.
