It seems like they provided the "wrong keys", which can be activated in UK, but nowhere else. So I think Bethesda is messing up pretty hard...
Let's say game keys, bought online, do not differ from retail keys, which I think is the case.
So D2D did not send "false" keys. Bethesda just made UK keys ONLY for UK, apparently keys ONLY for Germany and keys ONLY for rest of EU.
Even if they had announced it before, it is just the exact opposite of customer-friendly to enforce such strict region locks. (This is even worse than DVD region codes!)
I hope it's just a mistake Bethesda made, but the amount of time it takes to solve the D2D problem makes me think they get new keys suitable for the buyers region and the region lock persists.
That's okay for D2D customers, but what about retail? Will I be able to activate my UK retail version of Brink in Germany?
There was no announcement, whatsoever of such region locks and I'm not willing to sent it back. That would be a waste of time and money, while it is Bethesda's and not my fault.
Well, I'm still hoping retail will be finde, but we'll see.. a statement would be nice.
