I'm curious to get the community's feedback on something that struck me as a little peculiar recently.

I came to TES with Morrowind, and relatively recently I was taking advantage of both UESP and TIL to read through the story lines of Arena and Daggerfall. In particular I was struck by one little detail: in Daggerfall, when the PC is transported to the Mantellan Crux, it is possible to encounter Sheogorath there. It was my understanding that the Crux is located in Aetherius. How does a Daedric prince get to Aetherius?

Also, while we're on the subject of Daggerfall, could you clear something up for me: was the Warp caused by the Emperor's agent ascending to Aetherius, as I've heard? Or was it rather related to the activation of Numidium? Or something else entirely?

The Warp of the West was caused by the activation of the Numidium. As for your other stuff...I really don't know what to say.

I think it's been retconned that "Aetherius" in Daggerfall was actually an outer realm that bordered it, not Aetherius itself. Or maybe that was just a fan-terpretation to explain the inconsistencies...

Bethesda hasn't officially said anything about this aspect of the plot, and it's not likely to come up again in any of the games.

I'm sure a Daedra Prince can enter Aetherius. And I'm sure, if any know how, it would be Sheogorath.

I think the better question is why wouldn't Sheogorath be there? I can't think of a more fitting place for him, could you? Get to them young - that's his philosophy..a twinge of madness before the soul returns to Mundus.

How does a mortal get to Aetherius? And why Daedric Prince couldn't get there in a similar way?

Especially Sheogorath. He is Sithis-shaped hole, after all.

I don't think a Prince of Misrule would even desire to be in Aetherius. The princes do not share the goals and ambitions of mortals.

When mortals die yea, they go to Aetherius and through the Dreamsleeve but Daedra cannot die like Aedra that can.

Imagine Aetherius as a graveyard.You may go there when you die,but you can visit as a visitor.I guess Sheogorath was there because some of his realms worser off souls didn't go to the Hill of Suicides,and so Shegorath went after them bounty hunter style?

The world wouldn't split eight ways, if it wasn't for Sheogorath.
