Well, one thing we do know is that a town's economy is more dynamic - destroying a town's food supply will for instance raise the price of food in that town.
So there's that.
I'm hoping there's also fluctuating prices this time around - a better system than "oh, you have to pay shopkeeper 300% of the item's worth, while you can only sell that item for 50% of it's worth." I would love if you could actually buy and sell between the shops now. Differences in price, from shopkeeper to shopkeeper, should vary more than the difference in price between selling and buying from the same merchant.
