Would you like to see armour based on real armour in the game?

Some armor was based off of real armor. The Nights of the Nine armor was based on the Nights Templar, and Steel armor I thought was at least based off of traditional plate armor.

It already IS in the game, dude. It just doesn't have the names of the inspiration there. For example, the horned dude you see behind this text? that's "Viking"-inspired right there. (Yes I know real vikings didn't actually have horns on their helmets).

Sure, as long as the Elven armor stays. In addition to other epic fantasy armors :)

No, probably not. Emblems mean something, and they're probably not just gonna stick some real world armor for a particular faction into a TES game.

No, this is pointless. Why would there be, say, GREEK armor in a universe where the GREEKS never existed?

The armor in the game belongs to the cultures of the game. It wouldn't make sense to have real-world armor in the game.

The Roman Centurion armor, is simply chainmail. Knight's armor is simply steel. All of it is medieval. Imperial Legion armor is a lot like gladiator armor. Viking is also chainmail, and I would assume that fur armor would also be viking. Elven, Orcish, Daedric, etc are fantasy.

Sort of. Roman legionary/centurion armor was not chain mail until second century a.d. The typical armor you think of when you picture a Roman soldier is called the lorica segmentata, and was not mail, but iron stips placed horizontally over each other to provide good defense, but be compact-able.

And the Imperial Legion armor is in no way similar to the gladiators. There were many types of gladiators, usually with little armor, or very stylized armor, and the guard looks like none of them.

I don't see the point of having real armors in a world where they don't belong... I like "real world-inspired armors" and completely fantastical armors... and both kinds have already appeared in TES.

i would want fantasy armour that looks like it could be real. not armour that were actually used in real life but looks functional enough to be used for real.

I don't think you are allowed to point those things out if you spell "Knights" as "Nights" :hehe:

EDIT: Ooo, that is fun. Anyways, no, yes sure? Random on topic banter. More is good. IMplement it well.
