Archive Invalidation Invalidated

Post » Mon Apr 25, 2011 6:51 pm

When I was playing Fallout 3 and using the Fallout Mod Manager, it automatically fixed the issue of Archive Invalidation Invalidated without me having to edit or do anything. Is it the same for OBMM? I have a BSA in my Data folder called ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated! that came with OBMM, but I don't know if its in effect.

It probably came with Wrye Bash, not OBMM.

Oh, I didn't know. Is it working like that or do I need to turn it on somehow?

You don't need anything special to get archive invalidation to work with OBMM. It has several options you can use, the default being redirection, none of which requires anything else in order to work. As I understand it, Archive Invalidation Invalidated is just a different way of going about it, and not a requirement. I certainly don't have it on my system and I have no problems getting textures to show up.

BSA Redirection and "Archive Invalidation Invalidated" are the same thing. More info http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/archiveinvalidation.html.

Okay, thank you everyone. I just am reading the installation instructions for mods and some of them advise you to add certain lines of text to your archive invalidation invalidated document, but I guess they just haven't updated their instructions to inform OBMM users that thats unnecessary. Thanks again.
