Customization in armour

Post » Sat Apr 30, 2011 10:20 am

I read that you will be able to forge your own weapons and armour in Skyrim, but will this lead to choosing individual patterns and styles or will you be stuck with basic disign.

If you can customize it would be cool if you could add colour or perhaps a coat-of-arms to shields. Also with armour it would be good to change the shape and colour of specific pieces, for example a shoulder guard, or pattern on cloth like the different city guards in oblivion.

I second that.

I will play xbox first as I usually do, so yes, I strongly hope we'll find a large vanilla variety of armor and if some good customization feature will be implemented.. it would be just great.

The answer is we really don't know. While it would be nice to get some degree of customization over the items that are made via smithing, I think it's more likely that we'll simply be stuck with a list of generic items with no room for customization. At least I hope we'll be able to forge some special items we can' otherwise get through normal means, though, or can create higher quality versions of generic items, because otherwise, smithing you're own items would get a little pointless once you can find the same items by normal means, except if you want to sell them.

Im hoping that as you increase your smithing level (at least I think its called smithing) you could unlock more and better patterns/designs and your forged items would be better quality and have a better armour/attack rating. I cant wait to try this

I hope your hopes are true. Though I wouldn't be suprised if your Smithing skill only unlocked Steel, Elven, Ebony types you can forge. Now if you can make armor of these types better than you can find and with some customization would be nice.

Coat-of-arms like http://satwcomic.com/coat-of-arms related with http://lolpics.se/5232-%5Bcensored%5D-lion

Anyway, no joke this time, i really think this will be great in game if possible... Our character will have the possibility to customize the shield with a unique style from the others. I suport this!

Yes, this is included in a lot of games already, and if it affects performance maybe it could be turned off in visual options. There could be blood and dirt from the environment too, and maybe getting wet in water, but those effects could just last temporary then fade away.

BTW I like the new background for the site too. Finally something that looks cool and suites my tastes.

I hope the customization and smithing is really deep. I just started Two Worlds 2 and it says in the manual you can customize armor and even the colors. I'm only two hours in so I haven't been able to do that yet but the crafting is really cool. I'm confident Skyrim will have a nice system in place.
