Do you think Umbra will be in Skyrim?

My official stance is, depends on how the second half of the TES novel ends. I'm going to surmise that we won't, but it's 50/50 for me right now. But personally, I'd rather see new artifacts pop up, not Umbra again, which has been having so much air time, it's getting stale.

yeah id like to see more dark artifacts arise like umbra but different ones, daedric or otherworldly, with some kind of special ability, like the staff of worms and skull of corruption effects... i dont know but some new cool effects would be cool

It should definitely be in. It should also be a two handed claymore, and wielded by an Orc that makes Grom Hellscream look like a [censored].

if umbra(not the sword, the guy who has it) is a old ORC with a full orcish armour, talking about the things he did in the past, just like in morrowind, i dont see why not! i just dont think a... high elf female? really can be the carrier of the mighty umbra sword. seriously...

All I know is that I want to eat some souls, and given how much the fans love it I think they will bring it back for that reason at least. I was just worried. Time will tell if it's back. I agree with some of the above statements that there should be more dark artifacts. Maybe a whole pure evil armor set complete with evil tunic, canteen, and dining set! (I'm serious)

As long as its a claymore again, not some wimpy one-handed sword.

It was still a pretty powerful weapon. One of the best one-handed swords in the game. I personally would prefer it to be a one handed weapon, because I prefer sword and shield style combat, but I'll still use it if it's a claymore.

if umbra returs , again the balance between blunt weapons and blade weapons will be break .Also, it has no sense using a two handed weapon while a one handed going to be a lot better.

*demonic, almost possessed voice*
UMBRA HAD DAMNED WELL BETTER BE IN SKYRIM, ELSE SOME THROATS GONNA BE SLIT!!!!!

*ahem* See, I enjoyed the Infernal City to a degree, but I swear to Sheogorath, if Greg Keyes destroys my precious, I'll find him and do horrible things to him... or at least draw some crude pictures of me doing horrible things to him.

I expect it might but I certainly hope not. I absolutely detest Umbra; its powers of corruption and bloodthirsty serve only to harm the land. In Oblivion, I roleplayed against it, Killing Umbra the bosmer only so she wouldn't slay any other lives to sate that dreadful blade. Then, taking the sword, I dropped it right in the middle of Rumare lake.

I hope it sinks for ever, ghastly tool of misery and death. May your corruption never see the light of untainted day again. :violin:

Its in the lore I don't see why not. I want someone powerful to have it though. Maybe some legend Nord who is level 40 and isn't hendered by level scaling.

See, its corruption made my character so much awesomer! He took the ultimate blade of evil and pretty much tamed the beast, so to speak, using the weapon of mass destruction and pure evil for good.

How will it break the balance? Umbra wasn't that great of a weapon in MW, and physical damage was easily outmatched by physical + enchanted weapon damage with a daedric longsword or dagger, depending on the enchantments, in Oblivion.
