DISAPPOINTED!

Brink proves one thing as far as I am concerned, that Bethesda make great RPG's. The multi-player has truly given a new definition to the word lag. Of course this may just be a case of launch day jitters, time will tell. Also who thought it would be good to put 16 second spawn counts into the single player game? Next time someone at Bethesda suggests making another FPS could you, instead, just take a headlong run into the nearest solid object. Maybe once the 'shouldn't have happened anyway' server problems have been ironed out I may actually find this game playable. Until then it's going straight into the pile to be traded in. Now looking forward to FNV DLC. Hope that works out a bit better for me.

Bethesda is the publisher, Splash Damage is the developer, but regardless both are working to patch problems.

Bethesda is the producer - not the developer.

Granted they have a responsibility to ensure the games are smooth, as it is there name that pops up first when the game loads.

I really beleive that dev's need to ensure that beta testing is done exactly like they are doing with Gear 3 (online, over the regular used netweork) not like in a controled environment.

1. Bethesda didn't develop the game.
2. Lag is most likely due to launch day problems.
3. The spawn is not a set time limit, is it a wave spawn of twenty seconds. To add risk in waiting for a medic.

1.1. Bethesda didn't develop New Vegas either. Just in case.

Bethesda didn't make the game, Spalsh Damage made the game. Bethesda is just the publishing company in this case, not the developer. Splash Damage has previous experience with making FPS games, so don't look at this as a Bethesda thing. That's like saying that Microsoft makes great sci-fi shooters like Halo. Yeah Microsoft Owns Bungie, but nobody thinks of Halo as something that Microsoft came up with. Same thing here. Bethesda also has the up coming game "Rage" under their umbrella, but their not making that one either. Id software is making that one...Bethesda just owns them. Hope that clears it up.

Bethesda didn't make the game Splash Damage did

The game has an emphasis on teamplay and tactical gameplay hence why the need for spawn timers. See the reason the spawn is so long is so one team can take advantage of the enemy team being down several players and push in order to secure the objective and gain ground. This game isn't played like COD where you can go all willy nilly and respawn right away. If you hav't noticed your average life spawn is much longer in Brink then it would be in COD because not only are you making the most of your life since their is risk of death being a punish but due to the way the game itself plays. This plus the fact that you can be revived in combat.

Now this may not be your preferene in playstyle which is fine but understand that the reason the spawns are long like was an actual rational decision made by the developers. It would appear you are playing on a console I may be wrong but respawn timers are usually associated with PC games since they usually have the players involved in more teamwork then run n gun. So you may just be experiencing culture shock.

What I don't understand is why the attacking team have the same respawn timer as defense since defense always have an easier job and dies less it would make sense for the offense to have a shorter respawn timer. Although due to medics being able to revive I can see why

They don't own Bungie anymore, Bungie owns Bungie. They do have a game contract with Activision now though.
Just saiyan...
