We dont talk about Fight Club

Post » Sat May 14, 2011 3:46 pm

Skyrim is about Nords and Vikings and Tough Guys right.

In the DLC Fighters Fortress, we had an Un-killable Orc to Train with.

What if we could have that sort of Open Fighting areas so the Player can Train and build up some of his Skills, wether its Hand to Hand or Magic or Sword and Shield, yet Nobody dies but only gets Knocked Out.

We could place bets or fight for sport.

Wouldn't this be a bit too much of a knock off of the fight clubs in Fable... just saying... and after M'aiq criticized that game too ;). That said, most of the regions are racially open, thus why you saw all the races in oblivion, it'll be filled of people from different races, possibly even non-playable races. Anyways, Sparring is usually something done in a gym or a mercenary/fighters guild.

Unless it's hand-to-hand or maybe blunts, it wouldn't make that much sense if they didn't die. Maybe they could decide to yield if they didn't want to continue the fight, or there could be someone like a referee that tries to stop the fight if somebody looks like they won't make it.

I would like sparring though. You could see the two Argonians in Oblivion sparring with each other by the Arena, but there was no way for you to have training like that, besides summoning creatures, which doesn't make a lot of sense for role-playing.

Would be awesome if there were sparring setups, where you could get Wooden weapons to train with. Wood weapons could do very little damage, so you could get into extended fights for training.

I would like to be able to fight in a non letal way and friendly way. That being in Fable didn't meant not being a good idea. I would enjoy good Ideas from Donkeykong also :P.

That's why you shouldn't make fun of other games XD

7th rule of fight club
You do not talk about Taylor Durden.

With the new fight system it could be fun to go a round or two of old fashion fisty-cuffs. Sword play is taking it a bit far i think.

The Witcher do have bar fights and can be seen as a semi-fun past time at the most (imo.) I don't see how they can make it interesting enough for us to do it. It would have to be as fun as tomb raiding. Why engage in a mini-game when we can be out looting for the same reward?

Now, go all out fight club and...

New guild: Underworld Fighters Guild.

"People always enjoy a good fable. M'aiq has yet to find one, though. Perhaps one day."

That, I guess.

I like this idea. I would like to see more natural fights where instead of each party member trying to kill the other one (as is the case in 99.9% of Morrowind and Oblivion fights), there could be a brawl of fists that ends in a different way (perhaps the first to run out of stamina loses?). A fight club or something similar is an interesting idea if done well.

7th rule: Fights will go on as long as they have to.
and its Tyler Durden

Back on topic:
I feel like it should be an option in the Arena (if there is one in Skyrim) to do non-lethal fights.
