Brink upcoming DLC and patches

The only thing they need to include now, is a pre-match fire squad option or AKA Party system. With only four players to a team now it's going to be hard for groups of friends to join each other online. I like the firesquad system they use where as long as your in a firesquad you stay group together on the same team and if you join a friend in progress you automatically join their firesquad or you can invite anyone into it from the scoreboard but they need a system to group up before the match and then have the leader search.

Yeah but they also stated that it is for those that don't have the bandwith to support 8v8. From what I understand, this affects everyone, but it's more than likely a quick fix until they come up with a better solution.

I agree it could be the first of something bigger, hopefully dedicated servers.

I actually think that BRINK's map's and gameplay better suits 4vs4 though. Sorta like Gears of War in a way. Far too many think that more is better and that's simply not the case. Better balance makes for better matches. 16 player or 24 player matches are the norm right now but not the best way to go for every shooter. You see a lot of shooters get hype because they allow more players in a match, 32, 64, 256... but for every Frontlines, Homefront, and M.A.G there are very successful shooters out there that have less players per team like Gears of War for example. It's all about the maps IMO. Brink's maps are more closer to that of Gears of War in style then the openness of games like Homefront, Call of Duty, and M.A.G. and for that reason I think the game is better suited towards 4 vs 4 not 8 vs 8. Also like Gears of War they take a different approach to the typical die and respawn points. They do a wave respawn from the base mostly unless a medic revives you whereas the other shooters struggle with their respawn systems usually.

I think Brink's map style, gameplay, and overall design of the game is best suited for about 4 vs 4. I still like that they offer the 8 vs 8 for those who want that and can run that without getting lag but I'm glad it's not the normal or standard option anymore.
