So, is it worth it?

Post » Mon May 23, 2011 4:22 pm

I've been watching this forum for awhile trying to decide if I should just go and buy it or not (on Xbox)

It seems most people either hate it or love it. So should I just go and get it, or wait and see if the patches fix everything?

Buy it used. (What I wish I had done)

If you don't feel the game.. Return it. If you love it.. Keep it. ;)

I've heard a lot of good things and mostly bad things. Single Player is horrible from what I heard. If it was up to me I'd wait for the price to drop.

I think the Game Informer Podcast talked about Brink so you can go there if you need another opinion.

Don't buy it for Single Player, though that is a good rule for 99% for FPS games. The multi-player is AWESOME! I have been waiting for Brink for ages and was a tad worried (but not really) when I saw all the reviews pouring in. The multiplayer is smooth and addictive. The only issues I've had is the game crashes when I exit (??) and also one map the sound stopped working.

The general consensus is if you like mindless death match, ala CoD then you won't like this. Which should have already been obvious from all of the marketing for Brink.

I think it will be great, but not until everything is fixed. Wait about a week, check back here, and then you can pick up a used copy.

It definitely needs some patches, but the game itself is extremely fun. Brink is a polar opposite from something like CoD, and I think that's largely where some people's frustration with the core game comes from. For me, a person who has enjoyed team-based games such as BF2, BF2142, TF2, or MAG on the PS3, Brink it right up there as one of the more enjoyable multiplayer experiences out there. Single player is just a glorified version of bot-only mode is the PC Battlefield games.

Typically, I am one who pays attentions to reviews a lot, but I have to disagree with many of them this time around. Brink is in fact a very good game.

No, this game is terrible. Don't buy it, not unless you want to waste $60. Some of the people on here are just trying to justify their purchase. There is no way to sugarcoat the svckyness in this game.

I like how 6 out of seven people so far like the game. The seventh person must be one of those linear thinking kind of person who can't find the other three routes to get into the objective area.

I would say rent if first. I knew I would like it before it came out, so that's why I bought it, but if you're not sure if you will like it or not than you should rent it.

Ill admit it - I was a diehard fan of Brink since 2009 - did nothing but rep it, until i got it, and came along more problems than imagined...

I gave it time like most - patience is a virtue, and it payed off...

They released a few patches that have now increased most issues - "For pc at least".

Now the game is very much playble.

I can see alot more progress done too this, and it becoming alot better now.

I guess I'll pick it up in a week or so. I have been following brink for about a year also.

Has the Xbox gotten the patch yet?
