DarkUId DarN Help

Post » Mon May 30, 2011 4:05 pm

I'm having two problems with DarkUId DarN, OBMM install.

First, the player position arrow doesn't work in certain areas. Yes, it IS turned on in both local and world maps. It works in the world map, works in towns and cities, but as soon as I step outside of a town or city and view the local map the position arrow is gone.

Second, the breath meter. I have no idea why, but it has reverted back to vanilla.

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling and this doesn't fix either issue. Not really sure what mods would conflict with this, the only other UI mod I have is colored world map and disabling it doesn't fix either problem.

After uninstalling I would recreate the oblivion.ini is case that caused a problem.

Another thing to check is to see if a mod has modified the menus at all, some might.

So uninstall DarkUId, delete Oblivion.ini, start game, quit, reinstall DarkUId?

Instead of deleting just rename to oblivion.old so in case you have other changes and this does not fix it you can go back to that.

Still the same problem. I have...a lot of mods. I'm not sure which ones may conflict.

With DarnUI there is no esp, it all comes to load order. BAIN helps in that. What I do is install the DarkUI with OBMM first then everything else in BAIN. Look for any mod that would modify the interface as that is probably the one that overwrites.

I don't know for sure how OBMM uses install order to overwrite but if you uninstall DarnUI and still have the missing arrow then there is another mod that does it.

Post your load order, maybe something will jump out.

Fairly sure at this point it's a mod conflicting with DarkUId DarN, but I have no idea how to go about finding which one it might be or why it might be happening.

Load order is in the post above, anyone have any tips on how to find the conflict without having to go through all my mods one by one?

I don't recognize half those mods, sorry. Could be a mod without an esp that did this too. Looks like you either installed these manually or with OBMM. For what you have, consider using wrye bash. Also, use Enhanced Economy instead of living economy as that is a bit outdated.

As for troubleshooting, if you did these with OBMM then start uninstalling until the problem goes away, I do not think there is a better way. This is where Wrye bash and BAIN are very handy, they show you what files conflict easily and you can move the load order on the fly to resolve these.

Yes, most of the mods were installed with OBMM because Wyre Bash is pretty intimidating for me.

I guess I'll start going through mods in OBMM and see if I can't find what's causing the problem.

Thanks for all your help, Peter.

Edit: Problem solved. Issue with Arc de Legolas. Once I disabled that the arrow icon shows up.

Top notch. Don't know the mod but the name is interesting. Somewhere when you have time, learn Wrye Bash and BAIN, as they can be your best friends, especially when mods conflict. Looks scary but take the time and save yourself alot of headaches in the future. Wrye bash is a must to get some of the great mods to work together.

If I can figure it out, anyone can.

Good luck!
