Breakable Windows/Bottles?

Post » Wed May 25, 2011 2:17 pm

Another thing that annoyed me in Oblivion and Fallout was the way that no matter how much you hit (or shot) a glass/pottery item it wouldn't smash. Does anybody know any news about how this issue is being handled? :brokencomputer:

Bottles broke in Fallout 3, right? (or was that due to a mod..... hmm, so hard to remember.)

But I doubt windows would break - building interiors are going to be separate cells again, as far as I know.

I'd like to see that - I always loved lobbing a small AOE fireball at a cluttered table and watching the resulting cluster**** of flying objects lol. If the bottles actually broke, that would be awesome! And more immersive. j

On a side note, I remember reading in one of Todd's interviews that npc's actually react to you knocking things off their tables and/or shelves now lol. That'll be amusing.

it would be annoying if they broke easly like accidently dropping or trying to move it around the place. it should only brake if you attack it.

I hope so. I would feel better as an evil character if I could go to a store and smash everything.

Imagine doing this as a part of a quest? There're two rival apothecaries, and one owner asks you to smash the other's stock.

oh forgot to mention.

It would be awesome if you could brake windows to get into a house to assinate someone or steal something, or even to make a little hole with a cutting divise to eavs drop on people inhouses

In FoNV (I know Obsidian did it), one gun fight in a bar with lots of glasses around and lots of bullets flying around would have been extremely epic and cool and awesome if the glas bottles/glasses would have exploded on impact when you hit them. If only the "loose" objects in Skyrim can be smashed I'm a happy chap :)

If bottles break, maybe that can be integrated into the fabled warrior lock bash.

Bottles - Yes
Windows - No
Why? Because interiors will most likely be seperate cells again, so breaking a window would be bad.

would be great oportunity to introduce weaponized potions, like a fire bomb potion, a freexing blast potion, a damage health fog, all when a potion is assigned to one of the two hands and can be thrown and activates by breaking.

regarding windows though, very unlikely, and thats too realistic any ways. I don't think its a good idea to put so much effort in such a minor detail. If some one makes a mod for it they should use it if they can in a DLC or somthing.

Lol, I absolutely trashed the Cheydinhal Mages' guild and as far as I know, they still like me, and they just walk around their trashed house just like normal, It would be cool if they put things back on the tables.

On a related note, in FO3 if you knock something over the owner of the item says "Watch where you are going!" or "Hey, stop that!" and your dad says "Oh, you are in a clumsy mood today!" Lol
