The Mede Dynasty

Post » Wed May 25, 2011 10:11 pm

Feel free to move this if it's in the wrong forum, but I was a bit unsure, and this is something I've been wondering since reading The Infernal City, and reading up on Skyrim. Is the Mede Dynasty (if you could call it that) from the book canon, and if it is, is it still around by the time Skyrim takes place?

The book is canon, and precedes Skyrim by 150 years.

More like 160, but that's beside the point. My main question was about if there has been any word on whether or not there's still a Mede on the throne in 200 4E.

No word. However, we know that there is at least a remnant of some empire in Skyrim. I supposed the Medes would be a safe bet, especially it Attrebus shapes up and expands the empire beyond (most of) Cyrodiil.

Haven't we heard of some Cyrodilic influence tied up with the plot (aside from the last-of-the-blades bit)? Or am I confusing some of the early wild speculation.

I'm not sure if the Mede's will survive until Skyrim's time but the next book may clear that up.

No, I don't think it's been confirmed.

Right, there's no need to spoil the ending.

When is the next book to be released anyway? I assume it will be released alongside Skyrim or slightly before.

September 27th, according to Amazon.com.

This is a stupid question on my part, but was there a beta test of "Skyrim"?

I don't think Skyrim is in the Beta stages yet. Either way, games like it don't get public beta testing.

The only bit of Skyrim mentioned from the book is that it really svcks to spy on the nords, and that Titus knows this.
