I could work similar to that mod where you equip the item then jump of a place, or it could work like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PdfePEDKNk&feature=player_detailpage#t=78s where you jump and hold X when you want to use it.
So you my be thinking, "Oh magnificent and wonderful Matt, how could this system work in such a way?". Well what if a parachute was really hard to get, I mean you have to find it and do alot of different stuff to get it, but not hard enough you want to quit. And once you got it you could keep it, but like armor, after awhile it would start to fail on you and could end up getting yourself killed. It would work like all other clothes, you would put it on as normal, then when you are falling from- lets say however high it would take to kill you- then you could hold
a certain key or button that would initiate the process and you would slowly fall.
Thoughts?
