If mehrunes dagon and his daedra horde invaded akavir instead of tamriel. Would they have an higher chance to conquer the mortal plane?

How would they invade Akavir when the barriers seperating Oblivion from Nirn is still up? Why take the war to Akavir when the heirs are living in Cyrodiil?

What do you mean? Was Cyrodiil the target of the Oblivion crisis? Why would gates open up in all the other provinces is the goal was only to eliminate the Amulet of Kings as a barrier?

I think an Oblivion invasion of Akavir might have happened in some way. What was that thread about Akavir being some sort of reflection of twin of Tamriel?

The main reason to think that Oblivion Crisis did not extend to Akavir, is that we have no reason to assume it did.

Cyrodiil was the target, especially since the last of the tower required to keep the barrier was there. Red Mountain was first, and that was taken care of, thanks to a bunch of dagonites getting the emprah to send in the nerevarine. Once it was gone, then Dagon could do what he wanted.

This thread should help a bit http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1192263-towers/

A passionate monkey play, and a great deal of fun at that.

No. Dagon always looses to The Dragon and there's a pretty big one over there.

Cyrodiil was the target,

Actually, it was Tamriel as a whole, perhaps the rest of Nirn too.
You can here NPCs talk about how Ald'ruhn was destroyed by the forces of Oblivion.
And if it were only Cyrodiil, why not send a few Legions from one of the provinces to Cyrodill hmm? Unless, of course, there were ongoing invasions there too. It was already stupid of Ocato not to send a few legions from elsewhere to protect the capital province.

Well put. :)

Think of it this way, per some ideas we discussed previously Tosh Raka could simply be the Alduine to a Shezarrine styled Talos.

Then read Seven Fights. You'll get where we're coming from.
