Maybe Sotha Sil is still alive?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 5:25 pm

Almalexia said Sotha Sil didn't say anything when she killed him because he was mocking her. But i think it goes deeper, i think his soul is no longer in his body. He is now one with his machines, he had prepared for the nerevarine prophecy and he also avoided azura's wrath by not dying during the prophecy. I think he's gonna come back eventually, maybe hes spending his time building a huge machine army to conquer tamirel. Or he might come back and help the dunmer get morrowind back from the argonians.

Unlikely.

If he was one with his machines, he could've easily stopped all the traps that the Nerevarine had to go through to get to his chaimber, if not tell the Nerevarine (through specially-created Fabricants) that Almalexia was the one they needed to watch out for. Besides, it's pretty clear that his specialty wasn't magic but technology- and there's no real way to capture/transfer a soul via technology.

And it's been heavily implied, if not confirmed by Azura herself that Sotha Sil was dead, as part of her final speech.

Sotha Sil was dead

Vivec says as much, in his encounter with sickly Uriel VII.

Almalexia was [censored] crazy. Bear that in mind. Sotha Sil likely said nothing not because he wished to mock her but because he knew that saying anything would be a waste of breath. She interpreted it as mocking.

Surely, he wouldn't be happy with the one mortal that removed any chance he had of retrieving his godhood again? Also, Sotha Sil was crazy. We know this. How do we know just what kind of crazy he was? Perhaps he was the eccentric loner we're led to believe? Perhaps he enjoyed murder, and felt like doing so to the Nerevarine? Who knows?

Besides, it's pretty clear that his specialty wasn't magic but technology- and there's no real way to capture/transfer a soul via technology.

Uhm. Sotha Sil was a mage. It's stated various times. Restoration magic also causes insanity, as shown by Therana, which further emphasizes my previous point.

"He shed his mortality long ago"...

Seems to me that it isn't as straightforward as it seems.

Seht was unquestionably a talented and powerful mage. It's that very magery that lent itself to the development of his technology.

Are you getting that from the 2920 books? If so you should know those are basically historical fiction.

Uriel VII was sickly nearly 800 years after 2920, so how could I?

I am doing well, thank you. And to answer the question you may ask: Very carefully. Very. And for the record, I am not 'insane' I am inspired.

Yeah, me and him are hanging out together all the time. We're in another "dimension" now , but we're good. We have no reason/urge to go back to Nirn now. We're much happier here than there.
