PS3 Update.. while PSN is Down?

I noticed that when I launched Brink the first time on my PS3, I downloaded an update for the game. I was pleasantly surprised and I was wondering how this occurred and can it happen again?

They've said the next full update for PS3 is going to wait until the network is back up - they want to know if there's any need for network issues to be addressed before they tweak things for us.

I had that too with KZ3, it wanted to download an update whilst PSN was offline, real weird.

Updates for games is seperate from the PSN network. So, yes if there is another update for this or any other game you can get it.

correct, just cause PSN is down doesnt mean your PS isnt still connected to the internet. And since updates are pushed from SD servers and not Sony's you still get ur updates
