Nice. Geez, the reviews are all over the place lol. More evidence that this game caters to a more specific audience :D

Yeesh, there's some harsh stuff there... people seem to be giving it terrible reviews based off STORY (c'mon, it's a shooter game, you can't expect Shakespeare), no female characters (I kid you not) and I even saw one where the guy was hating on Brother Chen's voice? Really?

EDIT: At least on http://www.cad-comic.com/, which gathers a huge gaming audience, it's in the top 3 current recommended games alongside Portal 2 and L.A. Noire.

Also, I only tend to pay attention to user reviews on GameFAQs, of which the average ratings can be seen here: http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/960409-brink, http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps3/960408-brink, http://www.gamefaqs.com/xbox360/960407-brink... 8.2/10 from user ratings on PS3! :celebration:

Aye there are some VERY mixed reviews.

The Brink review sea is very choppy!

I guess it's all based on what you want from the game. Your expectations.. etc. I've seen the live stream and it looks good so far, so I'm looking forward to Thursday when my copy should arrive :)

Yeah those are some mixed reviews... I wonder how many of the reviewers wrote their reviews based on that pre-release version and didn't get to play it online at all.

Eh, it's good for SD first original IP. I suspect the game to get better when they release patches and such to support the community.

Reviews all over the place, seems to be a love it or hate it game. Going to pick it up tomorrow and play it, I think it will play well.

Mixed reviews, but some of the reviews, even the positive ones, have some opinionated complaints. I can get AI, design, graphics, etc, but having
no-one-hit kills or grenades that don't kill are seen as negatives, wha-at?

Story complaints.....It's a FPS. I have rarely seen Shakespeare come out of FPS'es. Save that for RPG's/JRPG's, adventure/action-adventure games or third-person shooters, lol. :D

At least, it's mostly positive. 7-8/10 scores are fine with me. I think it's expectations and maybe Brink is a niche kind of game...?

I hope there will be patches and DLC. I really liked the concept of this game. ^_^

I actually do think GTAIV deserved a 10. If it came out today it probably wouldn't, but a game that advanced in 2008 sure as hell did deserve it.

No. The game didn't deserve a 10, no game does.

And that is a pretty ridiculous opinion. 10 doesn't mean perfect, it means masterpiece. Some games are indeed Masterpieces. No, Brink is not one of them.

I agree with the opinion you're claiming to be "ridiculous." GTA 4 was a great game, but not a masterpiece in my opinion. Different strokes for different folks.

I'm truly shocked by how disparate the reviews are for this game. I love it.
