Another spell idea

Post » Sat May 21, 2011 7:35 am

One thing Iv'e always wanted to do in a RPG is just to make someone go flying forwards, backwards, left, right or whatever. The only thing I thought of that is close to something that does this is the force.
Yes, the force.
I wouldn't want to see no blue waves like you do in the force unleashed, just a invisible force that comes from you hands that sends things flying back.
You could be in a store and someone lunges towards you with a dagger in there hand and you force them back with this spell and all the items and equipment in the store can fly everywhere.
You could do one with no charge and it only disorientates them for a second or so maybe making the smaller foes loose there balance, but then you could charge it, making the bigger foes loose there balance and the smaller foes to go flying backwards about 10 yards.

They could be a long quest where you go through a huge dungeon, fighting trolls ect, then you get to the end and you stand on a pillar that rises and you gain a super spell that makes the bigger foes go
flying 10 or so yards and the smaller enemies can go for about 100 yards. This spell could make the dragons loose there balance, or worse.

I don't want no fixed position where they go flying. So like if they are a bit to the left of your cross-hair or the centre of your screen then they'll go a bit to the left. If there bellow the centre they can go up
up and away.

Don't you think it would be a great idea for a skeleton to come running towards you with a huge two handed axe and then you force him away and he hits a tree scattering hit bones among the grass or snow.

For the hand action you could look down towards your hands to the right of your body, and you see your hands start shaking as you look like you grasping thin air and then you look up, your hands come flying up and them a huge blast of bass, the trees go all crazy, leaves go flying, snow goes everywhere, and BAMMM!!!!.................................they're on Mars...

It could be done with telekinesis on enemies. Which I would like to have.

There's already telekinesis in the game, just call it "manipulate life" or something like that.

My first thought was that it would be a bit overpowered, at least if it doesn't cost any magicka to cast at all. But anyway: isn't telekinesis already confirmed?

Yeah but does it will just do what it did in oblivion where you pick up a item or 2 and move it, I want to force everything in front of me away.

A dragon shout that's confirmed has a force push effect - fus ro dah.

Telekinesis has been confirmed, and bethesda has been strongly implying deeper functionality for it than was in oblivion.

Magic looks freaking awesome in Skyrim!

Oh yeah, totally forgot the dragon shout! I'm also very excited about the telekinesis and magic in general!

Sorry but you're getting the blue waves along with the Fus Ro Dah dragon shout as we saw in the trailer.

I voted both Yes and No because your poll allowed me to do it.

There is one unfortunate problem with your "force spell" idea, balancing. Sure I'm sure the team at Bethesda would be capable of putting in such a spell, but it could break combat in some circumstances such as you are facing bandits on the side of a mountain, use that spell once and watch them fall to their deaths. Or you could also feasibly use that spell to juggle enemies, preventing them from fighting back.

It's no good if you can't throw bandits off the cliff with that spell. And you should look out not to get thrown yourself, and all is balanced. If you want "equality for everyone",and every little battle to be challenging as hell, that points to level scaling, which was one of Oblivion's FAIL aspects.

As for exploiting,I'll just say this:

Do not use fast travel if you don't like it.
