Idea for New Forum RP (Open Discussion)

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 11:22 pm

Ok, So Here's the Basis:

With the Septim Blood line dissolved and no true heir to the throne the Elder council in heated debate finally decide the Champion of Cyrodill should be proclaimed Emperor. As the transition of Powers takes place The reformed Knights of the Nine who with their leader, the Grand Crusader, Stand up to the power hungry Champion. The Knights have grown in size since finally defeating Umaril and now have a proffesional army at their command. The Priory being reserved for their most esteemed Generals and the Grand Crusader Himself. The Champion of Cyrodil has gained the Favor of Anvil, The Rebuilt Kvatch, Chorrol, and Bruma, The city-states have pledged their militias to him. While the Grand Crusader has only gained favor from Skingrad. The Power Struggle has led to near civil war Between the Knights of the Nine, Proclaimed Sword of the Gods, and the Champion of Cyrodill, The Vanquisher of Mehrunes Dagon.

Thats the basis, I think it could work out, I haven't seen anything like it before so...

Obviously there would need to be role calling and such, but I wanted to see how the community would react to a noob to this community, like myself, throwing this out there.

So Any Comments, Please do so.

well the Knights of the nine are only allowed to exsist because they are an official arm of the empire, they stand by its choices and virtues, so i doubt they would rebel. Plus the champion of cyrodil didnt vanquish mehrunes dagon, he helped some priest do it. He was a lapdog and hardly emperor material.

Well I mean, if it weren't for the Champion, the Emperor wouldn't never have made it, they never would have gotten the amulet back, I mean hasn't history proved that people will want someone in power JUST because of the deeds he's done, NOT his governing abilities?

And The Knights of the Nine are strictly a relgious order, Which In it's pious beliefs could strongly oppose the appointment of the Champion...

Read through some more lore, refine it, and it will be great.

I would definitely join with some more detail and tweaking.

Pretty good idea the only thing are the champion and the crusader being played or all of the RP their servants and those caught in the middle?

Check out my Idea thread, just edited the Initial Post.

I think this one is a good idea, but won't work with the other RP's out there.

Keep working on it, and start it later on.

Revised Plot:

4E 1: The Septim Blood line is all but evaporated, the Avatar of Akatosh as severed all connections that the Daedric Realm has to this world. The Elder Council have ruled the Imperial Province with an Iron fist. Providing Consul's to rule the other regions of the Empire. Although they have been tame for the initial months of rule, Their Consuls have been ousted by local rebels and replaced. Highrock, Hammerfall, and Skyrim have joined together in Secession from the Empire creating the Highland Kingdoms. Morrowind and Summerset Isle have been put under Martial rule as Black Marsh, Elsweyr and Valenwood begin to have left-wing extremists plant the seeds of secession in them. The Elder Council has appeased the Highland Kingdoms to their 'Right to Freedom' and is doing all it can in keeping the remaning Empire intact.

4E 5: The Imperial City has turned into a slum, White Gold Tower is the last buliding not falling apart. As Chancellor Ocato sits high and mighty, while rebellion knocks on his very door. He finally realizes Cyrodil, No Tamriel, Needs an Emperor. The Elder Council, in Frivolous debate finally decide the last good man to lead this empire would be The Champion of Cyrodill, The Man by Martin's side throughout the entire Daedric Invasion. The Transition of Power is a slow one, as Ocato is hesitant to give up the power his Council has. The Champion, Who has in quite a frank term, No Governing Abilities, What-so-ever, Declares the Highland Kingdom's right to Freedom false, and sends the, Already spread thin, Imperial Legion to the Border of what used to be Hammerfall. The Champion, now Emperor, Replaces the Remaning Region's Consul's with his own hand picked Generals, who will enforce his will no matter the cost. The War of the Highlands begins and is swiftly ended with the Armies of the Highland Kingdoms overrunning the Legion at the Battle of Stonemoor.

4E 8: While chaos and anarchy spread throughout Tamriel, the Knights of the Nine have kept very much quiet throughout the ordeal. The Priory of the Nine, Sealed off from outsiders. Finally in an unexpected move, In every City-state of Cyrodill Notices pop-up on door steps overnight. "The Emperor Of Cyrodill has Brought War and Chaos to the once peaceful realm of Tamriel. I, The Grand Crusader, The Bane of the Ayleids, Vanquisher of Umaril, and Most Holy Arm of the Nine Divines, Call upon all able bodied, and able minded men, to step forward and face your false ruler. He has strayed from the righteousness of the Divines and deserves Retribution, Read my Words. All those willing to take up arms against a repressive Government leave your homes and cities. Take up the Pilgrims journey, and come forth to the West Weald, Hide in the Forests...Hide from your Tyrant. My Generals will find you, We will stop this mad-man once and for all." The Emperor finally realizes the threats to his throne and in Imperial Edict, Banishes the Knights of the Nine, making them, for lack of a better term, Non-exsistent.

4E 10: The Divine Crusader and his Eight High Generals lock themselves away in the Priory of the Nine, Fortified over the years to become one of the most impenetrable strongholds in all of Tamriel. They begin planning for War, as Secret Barrack Camps sprout up everywhere throughout the Forests of Cyrodill. The Highland Kingdoms have officially established themselves as a seperate governing body from the Cyrodillic Empire, and have Officially recognized that the Current Empire's rule is that of Usurption and branded him a War Criminal. The Emperor has through force dissolved all political influence of Black Marsh, Elsweyr, and Valenwood. Their Cities guarded by the Legion, Curfews set and all citizens branded with the Imperial Insignia as a sign of loyalty to the Tyrannical Emperor. The Grand Crusader has Enlisted the Help of the Highland Kingdoms in order to open a Double front on Cyrodil in hopes of a quick war.

4E 11: On a Cold Night in Winter The Highland Kingdoms Armies in a Combined effort with the Knights of the Nine's Holy Crusader Army, Attack Simoultaneously. the Highland Kingdoms Sack Bruma as the Knights of the Nine effectivley remove the Count of Bravil and oust the Legion from there, The Highland Armies retreat back to Neugrad in what used to be Skyrim leaving only a burning rubble of what Bruma used to be. The Knights Claim Bravil the Captial of the New Cyrodil Republic and open the City to an Election for their new Count, They Unanimously vote for the Divine Crusader, But he denies and gives the position to one of his Generals. The Crusader then retired back to the Priory of the Nine with his now seven Generals. Troops are recruited in Bravil and the War of the Empire has begun....

Emperors have often been just puppets. So the idea of the Champion becoming Emperor isn't that bad, since he has support of the people and will be able to re-direct attention away from the real power behind the throne.

Great RP.

BUT, i believe the RP should start where people begin to go on the Pilgrimage, and then attack Bravil.

I agree with W00tz BUT people shouldn't be pidgeon holed to either side, I was in an RP before where there were two sides, two of us were Legionnaires hence boring, if eveyone goes on one side it gets boring for those on the other

I see your RP thread but I see no spots for the Generals of the Legion!!!

I would gladly roleplay a General in charge of a Legion of men. That is if this RP is going to have battles fought on a rather decent scale.

Actually even if it's not I'd like to roleplay as one of the Champions Generals. :)

Take away the ranks.
No ranks to fill.
People pick w/e on either side and go with it.

There shouldnt be that many generals. Who has 8 generals in a small militia type army? No one.

Let's look at it, theres the emp/champ + 3 generals then theres the Crudader + around 6-8 generals.

Thats like 12 people on the get go, Thats extremely adventerous. I doubt theres even 20 active members at any one time in this forum, let alone 12 who are free enough to join an RP. Standards need to be lower.
