In game cutscenes?

Do you remember the pre release gameplay videos where there were ingame cutscenes telling the story? Here is one from container city.

Does anyone know why are they cut from the game? Or can you unlock them?

I appreciate the coming free DLC pack but I still feel screwed over. This is not what they were showing us.
I hope they will work hard on the game to achieve what it could be.

I have yet to see any objective with interrogate enemy, guess I'm just unlucky, and I prefer the cutscenes and level beginings they showed us not what they gave us.

Interrogate enemy is not in brink. Apparently it was, but they cut it during production and most likely replaced it with comms hack for operatives, since they did seemingly similar things.

And the cut scenes were most likely dropped so multiplayer would be more fast paced with less interruptions. While it is unfortunate from a story perspective, it worked out pretty well for multiplayer.

Cut scenes get skipped mostly. Comms Hack works the same as interrogate. You learn the enemy positions.

They re-did these cutscenes. I wondering the exact same thing, but they arent in the game anymore. The new cutscenes are actually in the level really and are just a little intro.

I definitely would have preferred the cut scenes that were advertised to us vs. what shipped with the game.

Why? Well, in Solo/Co-Op Mode, seeing in-game story-points like the one in the "Container City" video are what help convey the world and story to the player - they're marginally interactive so thus they're not simply "skipped" and come off more like the storytelling in single-player games like Half-Life 2 rather than simply a multiplayer map with bots (which is EXACTLY what we were told we WEREN'T going to get yet we did).

If they invested a little more effort into gating mechanics and tossed in a few animations of allies opening doors/clearing obstacles at the end of the short scenarios, etc., the Solo/Co-Op Mode would have been more enjoyable to me and I believe the audience would have absorbed more of the story.

The current implementation does none of this because those loading screen cut-scenes that star your mute character as an extra in the background don't help to pull you into the conflict nor does it allow the game to develop ANY relationship between the player and his allies. There's a reason characters like Alyx Vance are so memorable and it sure wasn't just because she was in a cut-scene between missions. No one's asking for a single-player game here, I'd just like to see what was advertised to us be the game we purchased.
