Awesome Moments

So I had one of those awesome moments today. You know those times when you say, "I love this game!"? I thought it was cool enough to share so here goes...

I'm playing my Medium/Operative, Security side, in Container City, Freeplay/MP. It was on the last part where you have to steal the vaccine thingy in the briefcase and bring it to the exit point. Fresh from a respawn, I start heading to the objective area when I see a dead enemy. As I often do, I said what the heck easy XP and disguise myself. I then started working my way around towards the objective from a less suspicious direction. When I get there, I see the enemy team has the place completely defended. There are guys stationed all around, and one guy inside the briefcase room standing guard. I start to plan my next move. I see a turret nearby. I start thinking I could hack it, but I would be spotted quickly and would definitely have to make a hasty exit. Then I realize that I'm not that far away from the briefcase room. "Do I dare try to go for the vaccine?", I asked myself.

I start working my way towards the room, sweating as enemies buzz all around me, acting like I'm moving around looking for cover. Finally I get inside the room and crouch down, still playing the part, as I watch the other guy guarding the briefcase. As soon as he turns his back, I unload into the back of his head, turn around, take the briefcase and beat cheeks out of the room and down the pathway to the right. A few seconds went by, and then the bullets start flying and I know the jig is up. I quickly round the next corner to the left, turn around and lay down a Sticky Bomb and some Caltrops. I then start sprinting my ass off towards the exit point, and manage to get there only a few moments later. We won the match, and the enemy never knew what hit them until it was too late.

That's why Brink kicks ass. Keep in mind I'm not bragging about my skills here, I'm a mediocre player at best, I just wanted to share this great moment. Thanks for reading.

I had the same experience as an operative on the resistance. It was the level where you have to get the fuel, hack the safe, and get the nav computer. It was the same situation, but the sides were reversed. I booked it to the airplane and they were so caught off guard that the plane was completely unguarded...they didn't make that mistake twice for the nav computer. They made me work for that one.

Awesome stuff. I've had some awesome battles we won in the overtime portion where you are hacking and it pushes the game into overtime and we won when we were on the Brink of losing! ;)

To make a long story short: me and Deathshroud completed the Escort Duty challenge co-op with 2 seconds before we would have lost.

But theres also the time, when I had an epic light chase with a objective carrier, it was like the cinematic trailer except I jumped in his way meleed him to the ground and finish him off with few shots into his chest with a Kross.

Everyone on my team was cheering yesterday when we did the escort mission total in 20:12. It was awesome. We were like a crack command force. Multiple operatives doing the hack portion. Medics getting team mates off the ground so minimal spawning. Engineers setting turrets. It was Epic.

Container City, Security, solo (I'm on PS3, there's no other option). I was level 7, and had forgotten to add my new attachments I unlocked - my current weapon (now my near-permanent weapon of choice) was the Galactic SMG - I only had a Silencer equipped at the time.

My team had been bogged down trying to blow the gate (first objective) and I wasn't pulling my weight as a Soldier.

I switched to Operative, and found a "hack side door" objective - I ran off to do it. In the same moment I finished the hack, a teammate finally managed to plant the charge - we had to hold out for 40 seconds before it blew. I came around the corner to see an enemy about to man the MG nest. I jumped onto the wall behind him, wallhopped off it, dropped into a slide which took me clean underneath him as he fell, then melee incapped and killed the guy before he could react.

Ammo full, one enemy down. Nobody in sight, time for a Disguise.

I vaulted the railing and dropped, sliding on instinct and finding two Heavies, one of whom the slide knocked down. I incapped him with a melee strike, then headshotted the other, taking him down with only the barest scratch on my first pip of health...

By the time I heard "5, 4, 3, 2, 1" and the door went down, I'd managed to kill or incapacitate the ENTIRE enemy team.

I lost 2 pips of health (Battle Hardened and a medic buff), and only had 3 bullets left in my Galactic before reloading.

Awesome moment yesterday.

30 seconds left of the game, we keep failing to get the hack (the missile level for security). I just make a suicide rush and put the hack box and hide in a corridor. It takes like 2 seconds for 1 percent. I noticed how much the team started working together, they all kept rushing towards the objective to stop the engis. TWICE the bot came through the corridor but didn't notice me (my heart was beating so much). 99% (I [censored] you not, it was exactly 99%), 3 minutes overtime. Are we going to win? NO! An engineer comes and starts lowering it. I can't do anything about it. If I die or get hit or start shooting, we lose. THE WHOLE TEAM rushes in and beats the crap out of him. But the damage was done, he brought it down to 63%. I kept hiding and hacking and we won, -5 minutes.
