New Content Soon

I know that with Brink's set up, it REALLY wasn't meant to be a Multi-player game. More of a campaign set up, but still, how much replay value do you see your game actually having? Me and three friends have already taken down the Campaign, both sides, all difficulties. Don't get me wrong, was extremely fun, but once all that is done, and everything is unlocked. Why continue? I tried doing Free-play and it really, with the limited changes you are allowed, doesn't effect the game experience at all. The free-play is just a replay of the story line. There only being 4 challenges was disappointing too, make unlocking gun attachments difficult.

Pretty much the point of wondering is, when can we expect downloadable content, and what will it consist of? My thought going into Brink was to run around and shoot people, never was much of an objective guy. But I can't do that, if you don't do objectives you lose. Free-play if you have played it which is claimed by the game creators, is played only a few ways. One, the team doing the defending ALWAYS wins. It is nearly impossible to break through a teams defense when it is all human players. Two, people ignore the objective and just kill kill kill. They do it for the XP, not to test their skills against others completely ignoring objectives. So while you try the objective you get shot by everyone and their mom.

For downloadable content, I think Brink would see great Replay value and to beat competing games out if a Fire Fight game mode was added. Make a score limit and a kill is so many points. First team to hit that limit wins. Otherwise I have no reason to continue placing the disc into the tray, and go back to call of duty. I'm sure others will follow suit. If not now, Gears of War 3, no traffic will exist on Brink. No Offense, just being realistic.

PS: Don't take this as complaining, just me trying to aid in others seeing a different side of something to improve it so it wasn't a game that people spent 60 bucks on only to return it 2 weeks later to their nearest Game Stop.

The multi-player is the same as the campaign, you play the campaign enough, the multi-player lacks. Two game modes. And all everyone does is kill kill kill. Yes I have played the multi-player. And everytime, I finished objectives and was best Engineer.

I have had MULTIPLE games where the objective requires an Operative, and there is only Medics and Soldiers. So I have to switch from my comfort area so we can have a hacker, and I'm not protected because the team is off running around looking for the next person to shoot, which happens to be pushing bullets into my skull and removing my hack box.

The game designed to be 100% multiplayer centric and it really is, since single player gets bored fast.

They have already announced free DLC is being released in June.

So the problem is not the game mode, but rather the players playing the game.

Don't get me wrong; eventually MP will get stale if you have to play the same maps and stuff all over again. I agree with that. But the best part of an MP experience is playing with teams that actually work together. So perhaps a big factor in your desire for improved MP modes is the lack of players who actually get the point of the game and put that as their main priority.

A TDM-style game mode doesn't get that across. People have suggested something like CTF, and I do see a CTF-style game-mode meshing into BRINK's storyline and gameplay features.

Sounds like a good way to go out of business. If that is the case they must somehow get the word out to that specific group. Right now the Metacritic score is 69 and the user score is 66. It has a long way to go to get into the 80s or 90s.

It's a great concept but it needs better execution. The campaign needs to be lenghened and given more depth. This can still be done using the same system. After all this is the not first time games have mixed single player and multplayer in the same campaign.

You can't very well complain if you haven't tried everything.

Ok, I could say something, but that last time I said something like that, a mod deleted my post.

So I'll just stare at you angrily.

You haven't played on a full 8v8 yet.
Was playing a harsh one last night. When you play the 8v8 its almost nothing like play Vs bots since these players are able to think like you so you have to out think realy people to win.
Please try out a higher level 8v8 and you'll see what i mean.
