[REQ] Goblin Animations and Misc.

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 3:36 pm

I really enjoy TalkieToaster's Playable Goblin mod, as well as his playable and NPC creatures mod.

However, Goblins just don't have some of the must-have animations for a playable character. Namely the jumping and swimming animations. So I'm putting out a request for them.

And for those not skilled in animation, I'd like to make a suggestion for a more 'fleshing out' of Goblins. Namely, goblins as they stand have limited resources attributed only to them. Especially compared to their counterparts the Grummites in Shivering Isles. Now I guess we can assume they use mostly stolen or neglected human items, but it'll still be nice to see goblin tents, goblin bedding, more goblin armors, more goblin facial feature variation, etc.

But I do think Goblin swim and jump animations are strongly needed. Even if only to let the creatures jump to reach the player or pursue the player across water (which currently befuddles them and makes them all-too easy targets for archers and spell casters).

Thanks,

I don't mod so I can't really help unfortunetly, but I'm curious, what happens when you jump and swim with the playable goblin and monster mods? Do you just suddenly lift up off the ground and swim while standing still?

Well, when jumping it is basically what you describe: a standing goblin lifting off of the ground and falling back to earth (there is an existing jump-attack animation that could possibly be utilized for this). Swimming, on the other hand, is basically just the goblin running (or walking) through the water.

^ The needed animations have already been added for the playable Fire Atronach, but I have yet to try the animations out. Otherwise, the existing playable creatures (Minotaur, Spider Daedra) suffer the same problems.
