those two are by far the best in my opinion hope they get in

Well, thanks, but which two? You quoted three. Missed one when deleting the tome I wrote? (Seriously I've played games with less achievements than I came up with)

Admittedly, "You never did learn to mind your surroundings" was a reference to my own history with traps in both TES and Fallout.

I never would have guessed my ideas would've received such a positive reaction.

"Dedicated Hero"
Bring an item from the opening of the game all the way to the end of the main quest without ever putting it in your inventory. (Got the idea from the 'Little Rocket Man' achievement from Half-Life 2 Episode 2, where you have to carry a gnome from the beginning of the game to near the end of the game and shove it into a rocket)

I'd like to see the achievements have some slight mechanical benefits, like in the ME series.

So lets say there's an achievement for exploring every dungeon/hunting down every dragon/whatever. I think it'd be cool if after doing that all my combat, magic or stealth skills raised 5% faster or something. Nothing really substantial, but something that provides benefits other than meaningless points/trophies/whatever.

Indeed. I liked how Borderlands handled achievements though. Apart from the achievements that you get gamer score there are also a bunch of achievements that after unlocking them awards you with a bunch of xp. Add on to that, they were hilarious as all get out. Than again I like achievements in general as long as they don't pop up in odd times and get me killed (rare, but it happens).

The reason why some complain about achievements is that they are forgetting it's just a game and don't want to be reminded that it is (in fact) just a game.

Now, a list of Achievements:

King Of Worms- Become the master of the Necromancer's Guild.
Loyalist- Siding with the Loyalists, resolve the civil war in Skyrim.
Seperationist- Siding with the Seperationists, resolve the civil war in Skyrim.
Key Master- Collect (x) keys on one character.
Gate Keeper- Without breaking a single lock pick, pick the locks of (x) gates on one character.
Knows much, tells some- Find the way shrine of Mai'q the Liar.
St. Jiub- Kill (x) Cliff Racers.
St. George- Kill (x) Dragons.

Nirnivore - Find and eat every Nirnroot in Skyrim
Coffin Dodger - Successfully poke a Lich with the Fork of Horripilation
Fraud 'O Baggins - Steal something from every child in Skyrim
Console Jockey - End the game with 99 million gold pieces.
180 Degrees - Turn an undead Dragon
Piste Again - Get drunk and fall down a mountain

My suggestions:

snip

I know that's a lot but I was on a roll. Most of these contain references; let's see if you can spot them.

Loved these, in fact I liked it better than my own suggestions. I caught some Mass Effect, Batman Begins and Assassin's Creed in there.

Can I suggest "No Achievements" or am I just a grumpy gus?

While you have nothing on the actual Grumpy Gus I hung out with at PAX, yes. Because no achievements gains nothing. Having achievements does not adversely effect your game since they are optional, but removing them means the people who do like them lose out while all you gain is not getting the achievements you wouldn't have cared about in the first place. Nobody wins in any practical sense. This way, I get my bleep-bloop and you get your uninterrupted game.

Nasty little creatures... - Kill 100 mudcrabs

Love it.

Well there goes my 100% completion of the game. It's like getting the Witch Gone Wild achievement in DA:O, I just can't stand Morrigan enough to do the crazy. Although here is my attempt at topping it.

Greybeard: Create a character who is very old and learn all Dragon shouts while keeping speechcraft below 10 for the entire game.

You're A Sneaky One- Go through (dungeon name here) without being detected or killing a single occupant of it, grab the (item name here) and leave. Oh, you can't use the rear exit either.

Home Brew- Make potions with the same effects as each as the alcoholic drinks in the game.

Ghost Town- Without getting caught by or attacking a single guard, kill all the civilian population of (town name here).

I Fought Mudcrabs More Fearsome Than You!- Survive an encounter with the King Crab.

Close Shut The Jaws Of Oblivion- Prevent the Mythic Dawn from attempting to revive their long dead leader and opening the jaws of Oblivion.

Undrefrykte Patricide- Kill the Underfrykte Patriarch.

Brawler- Get in a tavern brawl.

Drunken Fist- While under effects of an alcoholic beverage win a fight... bare handed.

Now Where Am I?!- Toss away your compass and your map. Good luck trying to find your way around now.

People are anti anything these days, apparently being bitter and resentfull is the cool thing these days.

I'll keep being happy and lame.
I hate achievements that are achieved through the normal course of the game. Like Create a Character; or complete this and this part of the main quest. Or the stupid HALO skull achievements that you had to look online to find them. Achievements should be gotta by doing something difficult, like defeating two dragons at once on hard or something.

Nice to see someone recognised the line.

I was actually a little disappointed, though, that I couldn't slip in more Mass Effect references.

My opinion may be a little biased because I am a trophy [censored]. I don't have any issue with having achievements that are achieved through the main quest. I think that they should be in every game. I do agree with you however, on the "Create a Character" achievements and other like it. I also agree that there should be other achievements for doing other things outside the main quest (obviously). But they don't all need to be difficult......

***POSSIBLE SPOILER***

In Dragon Age: O you get a trophy for creating a potion/ poison
In Dragon Age 2 you get a trophy for simply turning the map from Day to Night.

I am okay with simple trophies like this, as it get's you to use other features in the game as well.

They really need to up the game on this. Oblivion's had no 'out of the box' achivements, just straight quest or guild levelling.

Obsidian did a better job with fallout NV.

I suggest they get rid of them. The reason Oblivion had no 'out of the box' achievments is because the TES series uses the actual game to generate gameplay hours not achievements to generate artificial gameplay hours like other games do. Even worse games like RDR are using this achievement trick in game where gameplay items are locked until achievements are met. Such a grease ball technique. I always respected Bethesda for not putting, "Kill 5 lions while standing on one leg and rubbing your stomach" type achievements in Oblivion, and I hope they take the same approach to Skyrim.

Threat to Society: Kill 50 guards.

Metropolitan Menace: Kill 5 guards within 30 seconds.

Impersonating an Officer: Wear guard armor to gain access to a restricted area (I hope this is in the game).

Career Criminal: Spend 30 days in jail.

Fast Hands. Faster Feet: Steal over 5000 septim's worth of items without getting caught.

Cowards Live Longer: Accept a duel challenge and run away.

Showboat: Have a dual challenge accepted and then run away.

Reckless Abandon: Be in combat with 20 NPCs at the same time.
