Tattoo changed by itself

Heya all,

I used to have the 'Dog Tag' tattoo on my main character (Resistance) and I created a new Security character to tackle the 'Be More Objective' challenge. I gave him the 'Samoan' tattoo and now the tattoo on my main character changed to the 'Samoan' one as well. It also changed back my character's clothing to the 'standard' ones you get when you create a new character, but since I can change clothes anytime that was easy to fix.
I already deleted the new character and ran through the challenge again with another one who had the 'Dog Tag' tattoo but that didn't reverse the effect.

Needless to say, I was a bit confused and also checked a screenshot I took from my main character a few days back to confirm that he really had the 'Dog Tag' tattoo in the first place, which he did.

I know that this sounds like a minor thing but that one was my favourite tattoo and I can't change it back because tattoos are permanent. It's just really annoying that the game changed something that I cannot change back.
This could - theoretically - happen anytime I create a new character (and maybe also affect archetype/facial/voice-stuff) so I'm kinda reluctant to create new characters at the moment, in fear that existing ones might change again.

Probably should post that thread over at the Splash Damage forums, but maybe someone here ran into the same issue and/or knows if there is a way to fix this?

So long!

Did you create a separate character for security or did you just press y on customize screen, if you didnt create a brand new character then the tattoos transfer from your security guy to your resistance guy.

Your characters share the same scars, tattoos, skin tone, and facial features and once locked in, they are permanent and cannot be changed. That was done purposefully by the devs. I don't like it either.

From the game's main window I went to > Characters & Weapons > Character Selection > Create new character. So I really had two different characters I could select to "log in". It said that I had 2/10 characters.

So that is also true if you create a totally new character and not just when you customize your existing one? Would make more sense if it would copy the archetype/tattoo/voice-settings from your *first* character to your new creations, and not the other way around. Weird. :(

Thanks very much for re-directing me to your thread, Serval!

The workaround posted by BBboy20 is working (for me at least!) :)
