A thing I wonder about.

Ever wondered why the 36 Sermons are labeled "lessons". Maybe Vehk is trying to teach you something?

Not every thing is a lesson or needs to be a lesson. More to the point, this post.

I'm as familiar with, and devoted to, The Sermons as anyone here, yourself included. I've learned they're many things; part lesson to the Neravrine, part devotional prayer to God, part character development, part world-building. Some of it is written lucidly and some written in what MK calls phase-trance, where even he wasn't sure what would be the product.

And yes, it is a silly question. The fact the Sermons touches on it doesn't make it any less a silly question. And the answer isn't made any more significant because it's rendered in poetical language or has a fourth wall acknowledgement that it's a game.

perhaps it's irrevelant,, but for example in God of War(action game set in Greek mythology setting) when you save your progress message appears 'Zeus has granted you the ability to save your progress'. Perhaps in TES, Akatosh can give you this ability. Although CHIM theory sounds more : 1)interesting 2)realistic.

This reminded me of the jarring moment in "Dungeon Siege II" when a merchant on the path exiting the Dryad encampment tells you helpfully that if you have played "Dungeon Siege II:PSP" you can give him a code to get special merchandise, or something to that effect.

Bethesda is better at this type of thing: not breaking immersion.

...

edit: Thought admittedly, that was a pretty good explanation, The Dude. Lol

Yeah, although I think a bit of the meaning was lost in translation. You see, it's kinda' hard to sound condescending when you're typing. :P Hence, the long winded diatribe.
