So I recently "aquired" this wonderful game for PC after years of a 360 version.

I get told of the mods and stuff, and Im trying to install OBSE

it wants me to patch to the latest version before it does anything.

So I try and get the latest patch and get this message

Old File Found, However a file of the same name was not found, No update done since file contents do not match.


...yeah and idk what to do.

You most likely are falling victim to well-meant but outdated advice. IF you bought PC Oblivion as GOTY-edition, you don't need any official patches. GOTY, when fully installed, is totally up-to-date. The Unofficial Patch (and its supplement) are of course still recommended, but that's another matter.
