The Mummy's Journal

Post » Thu May 12, 2011 3:43 am

Two months ago, Fellow forum poster Blaven started a thread. It was a simple forum game - each poster would add one day of a refugee's life.
That thread evolved into a full-blown fan fiction - the first and probably only BRINK fan fiction - which ran its course in the period of one month.

With the influx of new posters, I'd like to spread it's grasp.

Behold the majesty of the completed http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1174495-refugee-journal-game/ and it's http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1179838-refugee-journal-epilogue.

You won't be disappointed.

Now I see who and why people are defending this game.

Nice thing there with the Refugee Journal thing. Really. I'm not downing it.
Matter of fact it has more content and is more indepth then the actual game itself. Maybe they will add some of the ideas in there as FREE content story line.

I'd like to think of it as the unofficial backstory to BRINK. It doubles the plot's importance to me, having a backstory and another motive to fight.

It does. It gives the game great story to play on. To me the game didn't do your community works justice. Even in those simple post you can show a deep sense of attitude, worth, confidence, hope, and maturity in a given character. The game was too bland.

Kudos on the journal.

Bump. Attracting just one guy wasn't exactly my intent.

We don't allow threads about other threads. We also ask that people not bump something unless it has been idle for over twenty four hours. If you wish to link to these threads in your sig that's fine but I'm afraid a thread about them is not.

There has been some discussion among the mods and admin for a Brink forum for discussing the setting, Brink-related artwork, and fan fiction as there have been a few (although none as nearly large as this one, that I'm aware of). If that happens we may be able to give the Journal a nod due to it's standing.
