Am I ready to play?

Hi!

After spending two months looking over the huge database of mods I've hoarded over 3 years and updating & installing & testing them, I think I'm (almost) ready to play. I've followed every step in http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1119325-50steps-to-stable-fcom/ and made extensive use of tutorials and advices in Tomlong's site. Without Blade of Mercy and Tomlong, I would still be struggling with a chaotic, unstable setup. Thank you guys! Anyway, back to the topic. I have some problems before I can say "this is it!"

1) Can someone plase direct me to Race Balancing Project's topic? I couldn't find it. I have some problems with that mod (High Elf Seam Reducer Fix http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af20/Judassem/ScreenShot0.jpg )

2) Is there anything special I should know about using TESLODGen? I'll run it as the last step.

3) Most importantly, can you take a look at my load order? Is there any suggestions or corrections you'd like to make?

4) As you can see, I haven't installed Harvest - Containers, yet I see some new animations, graphical changes on containers after I open them as if I installed it. Do you know which mod adds that? Harvest - Containers conflicts with OOO's lockbashing feature afaik. During my test-runs lockbashing sometimes worked and sometimes didn't. Is it normal?

5) BOSS tells me that DLCFrostcrag - Unofficial Patch has a possible conflict with Frostcrag Reborn, and using both would result in land tear. Does anybody know how big is that land tear? Is it huge?

6) I've read that I shouldn't have more than 400 active esp+esm+bsa in my Data folder. I have 317 esp&esm and 39 bsa's; making 356 in total. Is it too much for a stable setup?

7) Pressing R and turning the camera around my char sometimes crashes the game. Doing it in the character creation screen always crashes the game. Any clues on what might be causing this? It's not a game-breaking issue but it's still irritating.


I have no other questions, at least for now. By the way, I've cleaned all my mods using the lists provided http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/TES4Edit_Cleaning_Guide#Quick_List_of_What_.26_What_Not_to_Clean. I've also cleaned the mods that weren't included in those lists. While doing that I thought it would ne nice to add my results, so I updated them after my cleaning session. I've added 150+ mods in total to both lists. Although they are far from comprehensive, at least they are a little bit more up-to-date now :)

yeah, don't do that. dunno about land tearing but when I accidently forgot to uncheck the unofficial patch, many exterior walls and some other objects of the tower disappeared. looked kinda naked and ..just wrong, since you'll be able to see this from far away. either delete frostcrag patch esp or leave it unchecked each time you rebuild your bashed patch.

Don't use the UOP Frostcraig if you use FC: Reborn, it fixes things that are then completely replaced by FC: Reborn, so there isn't any point in installing the UOP.

You're at the number of mods where some degree of crashing is inevitable, but if Oblivion is running for any length of time, then you probably are safe from the .esp/.esm/.bsa limit. You can use TESIVGecko to merge smaller mods if you want, gaining slots.

TES4LODGen, as far as I know, is run and done.

Get Wet has an update, do you have that or the original?

So that means OOO already includes Harvest - Containers, right? I don't need to do anything special then?

Well if the game runs 2 hours crash-free, it would definitely be enough for me. I don't play any game more than 2 hours non-stop anyway.

Get Wet has an update, do you have that or the original?


I have the updated version, as pointed in Blade of Mercy's thread.

And thank you guys for warning me about Frostcrag. I was going to enable both the patch and mod, thinking "how big that tear can be?" :D

Thanks for the warning. I double-checked now and the one I've installed is version 3.0.1. Tomlong says

In Bash, the version number for HF v3.0.1 (which Bash read from the plugin's description) still says v3.0.0.


so that's why it still shows as version 3.0.0 in my loading list. I didn't know that a newer version of Quest Award Leveller existed though. I just saw it on that page, and I've upgraded to it just now.

You know Elminster is active on the Fallout New Vegas forum and just updated TESLODGEN recently.

If you don't have the recent version then try it. And if you do then report to him.

I currently have that Mannimarco mod installed and am able to run teslodgen without issue.

I was using the latest version (the experimental one) already. Tried downgrading to version 2.2.2, the latest stable version, and it fixed the problem. I'm going to report this as soon as I find its thread.

A quick question; what would happen if I merge a mod with another on which the first one depends? Both are .esp files.

I have a companion mod and it depends on a race mod. Both are .esp files. I'd like to save a slot and merge them. Is that possible?

I'd guess you would be doing that through the "Merge to master" function of TESGecko - but I'd let someone else answer this, as I don't have enough experience doing this.

I did succesfully merge the UOMP patches for DLCs with their masters using this and it has worked fine. Of course, don't forget to espify the merged file later!
