I got the game on Friday and nevertheless had a ton of fun playing it over the weekend. After psn came back up there was a bit of lag and whatnot online but I could still pretty much play the game, now when I put the disc in the game just refuses to load and stays stuck at a black screen after I select to play it not allowing me to even enter my XMB menu I can do nothing but turn my PS3 off and try again...so far after 4 trys its still the same problem and each try has been on a different psn acc (I have 2) with me signed into psn and the opposite. My PS3 has no problem detecting the game it shows its inside my PS3 after I insert it and shows that mini artwork when I hover over it on the PS3 menu, the disc isnt damaged either not even a single scratch on it. Kinda svcks :shrug:.

Do other games work ok?

And have you tried just starting the PS3, signing into your account, then leaving it to sit for a few minutes?

if the same thing happens, I had similar a little while ago - had to send my PS3 off for repairs. It sounds suspiciously like the problem I was having. Also, does the light stay green on the console, or switch to red or yellow? (if it turns red and starts flashing, it's definitely the problem I had, and yellow is a sure sign of problems)

All my other games work absolutely fine im playing GT5 right now. Ill try letting it sit on the menu for a while but I just find it pretty strange because the Brink disc wasnt giving me any issues for the first 3 days. The light stays on green I think my PS3 is pretty healthy atm, if I cant get Brink working by the end of the day ill consider deleting the gamedata to see if that makes any difference but I dont wanna risk losing my character :confused:

Edit: Just ejected GT5 and decided to put in Brink and what do you know it works now... :mellow:

Just making sure you had covered all possibilities.

If you delete the game data but not the save games, you should be ok for not losing your progress. And if that's the problem, it should fix it.

Also, make sure if there's update data, you delete that - it might be an incomplete update download or corrupted data or something.

Also check the save data and game data folders for corrupted data - that makes a difference too.
