Go to your Redguard Folder and open the sound folder. Inside there is a file called setsound.exe that allows you to change sound options. I haven't tried if it works myself but there is an option for no midi music that should work.

Thats just to set up the sound drivers its not to control the actual sound if you dont set up the midi all it does is plays the music through whatever you chose for normal sound.

Doesn't sound right to me. Normally if you don't choose a MIDI card it goes silent except for sounds.

I love Redguards music. Humm. I just loaded Redguard and I could turn the music right off, the setsound probably will allow you to do it. Also, take the CD out of the drive, if I remember correctly its ran off that. :)

You cant run the game without the cd :).

Anyway i just have it turned to the second lowest setting for some reason if i turn it right down it plays normally but if i have it on the second lowest setting i cant really hear it.

My biggest problem now is the speach is all crackly and stuttery.

Take it out while playing, obviously. :P

VDMS sound will help with crackling audio as well.

DOSBox runs it fine on my dated system without crackly sound. I had problems making VDMS work properly with almost all of my games, which is why I switched to DOSBox after discovering that QEmu had faulty SB code. You have tons of options for fixing crackling sounds in DOSBox, such as increasing the block size or using max cycles.
