Honestly, this game is well done. Now quit whining.

Right sure, there is no "Killing chart" so this is less of a game of who has the biggest [censored] but more so who can work in a team.

There are objectives, not just killing sprees.

You can explore and reach places you couldn't before. Its innovative and Brink did a damn good job trying to make its own identity. There are a few things that seemed to be planned but left out such as online stats and what not but, oh well.

In my own experience, I don't care getting top of the charts. I enjoy the game. Mind you, I am a person who hates COD and gave up on it by the time COD 4 was released since its just rehashed.

Sure its easy to get the weapon upgrades but what ever, its just a chance to hone your skills and get used to the fluid dynamics of the game.

I have seen some crazy things on this game that just make every encounter different instead of running into people in the same old choke points.

Just because you can't drop your pants and bring out the measuring stick to measure your accomplishments, it seems like everyone [censored]es about it that and other parts of the game that are 'the same' (Well, you have to be the same to a high extent to be considered a FPS as in, aiming down sights and click shooting while wibbly wobbling around with the WASD keys...). Also, yes, some of the guns are more "op" then other guns but, this game is young. It needs to grow with updates and players that just love the game.

Also, there are many types of FPS out there. Those that are MMO based (Fallen Earth), Stats based and level based (COD), team work but killing spree with classes (TF2), the massive ones with vehicles (Battlefield 1942 and on), and also the ones where they are hyper realistic (ArmA 2 which is an absolute brilliant game if you don't mind getting killed in 1 or 2 bullet hits and spending 10 minutes of crawling on your stomach to take out a high priority target).

Look, from a gamer point of view such as my self, I don't look at your stats on which ever FPS game I play and go "WOWIE that guy did that AMAZING k/d ratio!?!? He has THAT many knife kills!?!?" I don't care.

The less I know about you only means the easier it is to kill you.

That's all fine and dandy but you left out the portion where half the people can't play because of massive lag. Also the fact that you said CoD 4 was a rehash of the other CoD's just proves that you are just hating on CoD just to hate on CoD .

I don't really care about the stats of other people, but I would at least like to be able to see my own.

Hating on Cod is the new cool thing to do now days, like FF7 hate from people who were toddlers when it was released.
It's my new benchmark for idiocy, you can always tell the bandwagoners.

I agree with you OP. And about lag, what I do is I
A. Wait it out and read the dossier(it's a good read should check it out)
B. Find a new game
A or B whichever works

So I'm supposed to wait there for lag to go away that usually never goes away or fish through multiple games over and over to try and find one good one? Nobody should have to do that to play online.

Actually, I found ArmA 2. It is a challenge that I absolutly love. As for COD, it seems like a chore to play that game for me. The most I probably spent on it Post COD 3 would have to be 20 minutes at a time. However, COD 1 and 2... Used to spend hours on it. I don't know why but, I understand why everyone loves it but I just didn't build up the passion? Its kind of like why would you love to play one instrument over the other. Not the whole, "omg COD is lammamagee. You guys svck go back to COD." In the MMO world its kind of like how everyone [censored]es about WoW then if someone says something someone complains and goes, "Go back to WoW!".

COD set a bench mark that new games just have a lot to live up for. Regardless, I just don't find running around in circles with a Thompson or MP44 enjoyable. If the game was more team based in a realistic fashion (not quite along the lines of TF2 or Brink) but actual go in, stick together, do this. I just find it amusing when I see people run around solo into a group of 5 guys. However, not saying all COD players are like that now. Nor dwindling around with my junk out c**k slapping everyone who comes into my comfort zone.

So I'm supposed to wait there for lag to go away that usually never goes away or fish through multiple games over and over to try and find one good one? Nobody should have to do that to play online.

Is this an issue with the console version? I have come to realise on the PC version if I choose Campaign mode and try to join a random game, I get horrid lag. However, thats only with Campaign mode.

Agreed. Especially in a game that based the entirety of its game on online play.

I played the first Modern Warfare quite a lot (for me that is, ~70 hours in total if I remember correctly) and it felt like a sugar rush, quick to hit, but afterwards not all that rewarding. It never really grabbed me. For some I think that is exactly what they are looking for, a quick fix. When I started playing Bad Company 2, I found something that pulled me in a lot more because it wasn't just about shooting.

So far I have only played single player in Brink, but I'm already seeing the potential it has for online games. There is so much going on, things to do, strategies to try out, skills to learn. It feels more like a complete game than the others I played previously, more mature (if I can use that term without ruffling any feathers).

Agreed. Just longing for more customisation not just clothes but picking individual clothes or tinting it etc.
As well as facial customisation. It slows down multi player but is a great individual feeling.

Really though... CoD has just turned into the same game over and over again, they really need to change something other than just the Era the game is based in, and actually take some time on a game and not pop one out every 12-18 months with 6 maps and the same tired old game types then make us pay another 10 dollars for 3-4 new maps every six months.

At least Bethesda took that step, and has opened a new door for FPS's to come. Thank you Bethesda.
