The long wait

Post » Tue May 10, 2011 8:34 pm

Well, just a few days ago I uninstalled Oblivion after five years. It had been on my computer ever since it came out, except when I upgraded once and had to reinstall it. Anyone else played that long or plans to play all the way until Skyrim? Anyway I just felt that it was a good time, so when Skyrim comes around it'll be something even fresher, especially if i don't play any other fantasy 1st person rpgs in the meantime.

Also I thought I would get the novel, haven't read it yet. Might be a good prelude to Skyrim. Then the second when it comes out later in the year. Anyone else read the novel? What are your thoughts? No spoilers though of course :)

I also have been wondering about the lore. They say that the empire has conceded territory to the elves. I take it they mean the High Elves? Or the Dark Elves too? Does that mean there will be Elven overlords hanging around in Skyrim?

Anyway, seven and a half months...looking forward to it, but the wait is gonna be ....

I've been playing Morrowind again, I shall play through (and maybe Oblivion if I can be bothered) until Skyrim gets here, hopefully I will have upgraded my PC by then.

Uninstalled? Why? you may be 'in the mood' for it again in a week or so.....
I've started the whole thing again recently. I will dip in and out until the launch of Skyrim as it will keep me going.

yeah I know, somewhere down the track, like a few months from now I may get a hankering to play again. But I got morrowind on a laptop if i need it.

An upgrade yes, definitely want to get one before Skyrim..

I've started playing Morrowind recently, enjoying every minute so far. If we've survived the waiting so far, I guess we'll survive the remaining 8 months... whole 8 months... DAMN.

Same here, I uninstalled Morrowind and Oblivion, I'm not playing any Tes till Skyrim. This will enhance the feeling of rediscovery.

Playing through Oblivion again now, with lots of mods that I never used before. Sometime in the summer I will probably start playing Morrowind again, but I think when it is getting close to November I will take bit of a break from gaming so that when Skyrim is out I will be fully ready and eager to play a new game. I'm just hoping they don't end up pushing the release date back.

I haven't touched Oblivion or Morrowind in about a year. It might be time to dust them off and have another go.
