Brink MMO

Post » Thu May 12, 2011 2:00 pm

My friend told me his original thoughts on Brink becoming a spinoff MMORPG! It definitely struck me as funny at first, but on second thought, I regarded his idea and realized that it could be possible (NOT STATTING I THINK THEY SHOULD OR WILL), but it's a cool thought. Do you think they could make an MMO spinoff one day? Yes, no? Would they have to improve customization. Just thoughts. With a more in depth storyline and level progression.

I think if they focused fore on a continous, pregressive story, where you can explore (ACTUALLY EXPLORE) the Ark, the slums, cities, stores, and buy things and do missions, make in game factions, clans, make money by doing missions for people and helping the Ark as Resistace or Security, be a mercenary and make your own choices, more objectives! EVERYTHING! Clan logos and symbols, more customization, better voices, great graphics. Like Fallout, but more of an MMORPG Brink.

Please share thoughts and ideas and what you think they should put.

It sounds like a good idea that will never be created. It would be 10x better if it was in third-person as well.

The game has literally just come out and you're suggesting that they make an MMO of it now?
Not a good idea.

Every game could be made into an MMO. Not every game will do it well. Most wouldn't even last a year.

Wanna play CoD MMO? No? Then it's the same as Brink. NOW if you wanted a RPG then that could happen. Take the outside world of Brink (barren wasteland) and put in RPG elements (ie perks, skills, attributes) and slap on SMART. Post apocalyptic game in the not too distant future. Like Fallout but with more modern guns and SMART

If anything, I would love a fully realized singleplayer/Co-op with Borderlands style weapon drops. Every time i play on resistance maps, I cant help but be reminded of Borderlands.

No. BRINK should be mainly and fully on the Ark. And how does bloody COD work as an MMO, they simpily cant. With BRINK it is very possible.

As for the MMO, would I play it; yes. Do I care if it was made? No. Honestly, you can't go to the Ark because the Security are on high alert now that theres a plane going to a new place which can lead to more problems(The first moving of the Ark). It would end up being this, if you're Resistance then you will stay forever bound in the CC, and if you were a Security, you would be stationed at the checkpoint, unless one decides to push.

I voted "interesting thought"

It COULD work, but if it's done, it depends heavily on HOW it's done.

Sounds cool! Bigger maps and MUCH more objectives would be fun!

No, I couldn't see Brink being an MMO. Also there's the fact that I get extremely bored with MMO's. I think the only MMO I will play (on 360) is the one Bungie is rumored to be making.

Plus, I'm not sure how you would pull off an MMO on consoles. ARPG and RPG sure, but MMO?
