I need something else to do...

Post » Mon May 16, 2011 9:09 pm

I need a mod that will offer me a lot of new quests and things to do (Items/artifacts to obtain, etc.) seeing as I've done a lot of what there is to do in Oblivion. Can anyone direct me to a mod that has this? Preferably with voice acting, just so not to break immersion. Also, I'd like it if any new items it may or may not add are too flashy and hi-res, considering Oblivion just barely runs smoothly on my machine as it is.

Thanks you for reading and for your suggestions,
-Tanner

Might wanna check out the Lost Spires, it has everything your asking for. I havent played Heart of the Dead but its supposed to be amazing as well. Integration: The Stranded Light is supposed to be amazing as well, but you need LAME and Race Balancing Project to run it thought IIRC

Excellent, thanks. I'm downloading HoD right now, but my download went bad with Lost Spires, so I'll have to wait another 3 hours for that to download.
Thanks for the suggestions my man.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14601. It's an excellent quest mod that also provides an elaborate player abode with surrounding village (or small town by Oblivion standards). The bulk of it is voice acted, though there is some non-voiced dialog. You need to be Champion of Cyrodiil to start it, but it sounds like that shouldn't be an issue for you.

If you haven't done anything with the rather drab Imperial Isle area, I'd suggest a combination of http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22828, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22751, UL Imperial Isle, and New Roads & Bridges. They bring the area to life and do so in a lore friendly manner. AFK_Weye is an excellent quest mod in its own right, providing yet another fine player abode near the Imperial City and making improvements to Weye. It is not voice acted. Region Revive - Lake Rumare adds small villages, farms, and other structure of interest to the Isle, and includes small-scale unvoiced quests. UL Imperial Isle and New Roads & Bridges are popular enough to need no introduction.

I second the recommendation for Kragenir's Death Quest. It will see you visit and or revisit almost every nook-and-cranny of Cyrodiil. It's especially enjoyable if you forgo fast-travel. It'll keep you busy for a LONG time. (BTW, as of this date all eight KDQ "User Uploaded Images" at Nexus are captures from my first play-through.)

Likewise for Lost Spires. As mentioned, it covers just about all the bases and does so extremely well.

Oh, there's also http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21989. Unvoiced and a tad glitchy, it still qualifies as one of the best elaborate quest mods existent.

http://knol.google.com/k/toql-the-oblivion-quest-list

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1072579-the-any-mods-list-of-topics/ list (check the quest section)

My usual Recommendations

My favorite quests are:
http://theelderscrolls.info/?go=dlfile&fileid=349 (my most favorite)
http://www.tesnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=125368
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21989
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17448
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6977
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6855
Ihttp://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19591

The great thing about Integration is its extreme re-playability. With all of the dialogue, skill/race/guild/etc. checks, multiple solutions, two different paths to take in one quest line, the ability to fail quests or achieve them to varying degree, choices and consequences, and really just vast amounts of detail and care put into all of the characters. You can play it at least like 4 times before even getting the slightest bit of feeling of: "Oh, god this is so boring!... I'VE DONE THIS ALL BEFORE!"

If you need something to do I suggest that you include Vince Bly's http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22846 and Emma's http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28977 to your mod list.

Perhaps http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15412 mod can inspire you. :)

I would like to recommend a small treasure hunt: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=29931 and I second most of all the others recommendations, but if you install Kragenir's Death Quest and Servant of the Dawn at the same time, do Kragenir's main questline first, or it will be broken by the second.
Currently I've got installled:

I meant to include a Kvatch rebuilding mod in my initial response. There are several available. I used Kvatch Rebuilt my first play-through, and an alternative this play-through. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. Rebuilt remains the most popular of the Kvatch mods. It handles the actual rebuilding of the city very very well, with a series of associated quests. Its one failing is, in my opinion, that once all is said-and-done and the city fully restored there is little reason to visit there. The Kvatch mod I use this time 'round provides a more interesting finished city, but offers no player-assisted building phases. (There ARE phases, but the player only observes them.)

Aye, Emma's "Vilja" can add welcome complexity to the game. She's a very full-featured companion, with lots of personality some of the best voice acting this side of paid professionals (despite Emma's protestations otherwise). The mod comes with several very entertaining quests.
